Way off topic, but I know many here know the pain of losing a beloved pet. Molly was my devoted pet/companion for many years. She was a Wheaten Terrier, her father was a champion, but mainly she was our family pet. We had her all her life, She was doing pretty well until about two months ago, just after Christmas. She started pacing, walking in circles, urinating in the house. Our Vet said she had had a stroke, and we could euthanize her or wait for another stroke, it was basically hopeless. She was nearly 15, her condition worsened day by day, I had to carry her up stairs. I carried her outside to "do her business", sometimes at 3 am, in the snow of Long Island New York. I was exhausted and and so was she. Then one Saturday morning she soiled herself. I could tell she was sad, she was listless, not interested in eating. I bathed her in the bathtub. The Vet was closed until Monday February 13. So for three days I stayed with Molly almost constantly. I petted her, talked to her, said it was okay to leave, she was going to a place where she would be healthy and young again. I told her our former pet, another Wheaten, named Blarney, would meet her and show her around. Her last meal was her favorites- cheeseburger, liver and bacon. then my daughter and i took her over to the Vet. I won't describe the procedure, but we were present with Molly till she passed, and it was peaceful. I still miss her. I look for her on the floor all the time, I stare at the place in my bedroom where she slept. I know I will feel better one day, but I'm still missing her. I noticed my energy is very low. I don't feel much like cleaning and organizing. Please don't suggest another dog. I'm 64 and I have health problems, training a puppy is beyond me. And even an older, shelter dog sounds like work. Thanks for reading.

God bless you Jannie You did everything with your sweet baby to give her a good life and a peaceful, loving passing. She knew and I believe her spirit is still by your side. I agree with you that another dog at this point would be more than you feel you could handle. And there could be no replacement for your dear girl, of course. I hope as spring comes and you are out more that the sight of dogs will bring a smile and good memories. When you bend down to pet one may doggie kisses make you laugh. For now, thanks for posting and know that there are very many of us sending you hugs and comfort.

I'm so sorry. Been in your shoes many times. It takes time to recover. Losing a pet hurts as much as losing people. ((((( hugs)))))
