Yesterday was not one of my best days, and I don't know what today will hold, either. I expect to roll with the punches, but hope it will be calmer than yesterday. I am grateful that I have developed a habit of lengthy morning workouts, because that is really helping me maintain my calmness and deal with the stress of what's going on. I don't really want to go into it in depth at this point, but will say things are not going smoothly at the family business. But I am doing what is in front of me and doing my best to keep things going as evening as possible. It is having its impact on me. eagle's Friday
- morning wake-up routine
- made a pot of coffee
- cleaned out a To-Go container & washed a spoon
- opened back door (It's going to be much warmer today.)
- time outdoors with the birds before the weather changed
- physical exercise
- showered, etc & went to work
- meals (forgot to eat dinner, though)
- evening with granddaughter
- tidied living room

Hi Eagle and Rexrot,
Eagle, Ihope today will be better for you than yesterday, and tomorrow even better than today. It is hot in the summer where you live, isn't it?
Full summer here. And Rexrot, I think we are more or less in the same time zone, one hour different I think, and it is afternoon here as well - and I have done very little from my list.
Instead - I have done some hard work outside, pulled a lot of weeds, replanted some flowers, put down some fairly big rocks for decoration - and it feels so good to do physical work like that, and I enjoy making things look nicer too.
Now for indoors work: Cooking a nice dinner now, after having bought some groceries. Had a quick shower after all the heavy work. Feeling good!!!

Howdy, Rexroth, Rosebud & Eagle Rosebud--thanks for starting the thread. Hope your day's been lovely. Eagle--I hope things get better today. I know there can be some really rough times having a family business...but there can also be some nice benefits, too. My Dad started a family business and it was fun all of us pitching in and helping when we were very, very young. But, there were huge problems along the way that had to do with being family...especially as my siblings got older. But, we sure did have fun at times & often could be a relaxing atmosphere due to all the love that abounded, as well. etc. etc. Rexroth--Tomato sauce on the wall? And, I thought you didn't have kids... Really, I do understand because my DH makes the biggest messes... never forget the time he called me about the orange juice spill. He cleaned it up, but when I came home from work I couldn't help laughing and giving him a hard time about the Orange juice on the ceiling & walls that he missed. Have a great day or evening, y'all. Good afternoon everyone!
It's now T minus 23 hours before I have to leave on my trip. I think I may be able to pull all of this off, but it's going to be a bit half-assed. Still, the place will be livable for the people coming in twice a day to feed the cats for the next week. That's all I ask for.
The hot water heater has not been replaced yet, but the guys coming in said between noon and five pm, and it's only ten minutes to one where I am. So right now I am trying to work around that, and taking advantage of the "break" from work that having to stay home for this has afforded me (silver lining!).
Ta-Das: - fed the cats - went to my mother's place and took a shower - did two loads of laundry (yay for mothers with hot water!) - ran the Scooba in the dining room - plugged the Scooba back in - put out the recycling - brought empty recycling box back in
To-Dos - tidy up clutter in living room - find a home for the big box currently taking up space in the living room - wash dishes - wipe down kitchen counters - swish & swipe the bathroom - go to pharmacy and pick up toothpaste & eyeliner - buy a pair of sandals (if I have time) - bring in the three bags of containers from the porch (don't ask) - run the Scooba in the living room (may have to wait until tomorrow) - run the Scooba in the dining room again at least once - put together papers for trip - pack for trip
Okay. I can do this. *cracks knuckles*
Onward!

Hi everyone, Tomato sauce on the wall because of energetic stiring of a large volume in too small a pan Regards Rexroth Okay, I admit to having done that same thing on multiple occasions with the thought of, "I can do it...I'll just have to be careful". . Here's my tadas so far today... 11:00am dressed2shoes took DD to school folded/hung load of laundry put that load away put another load in the washer took bag of trash to outside can & bag of recyclables into recycle can put 2 empty boxes into garage & played with puppy 3:21pm changed clothes went to meeting Was early to pick up DS from school so decided to take a walk around the lake (twice) down the street from his school...walked 1 1/2 miles rather than just nap in the car & listen to radio decided to do something more active...Yay, me!!! treated DS to nice lunch Back to it! Mouse all the best for your trip. Must have been vi ery difficult all the hastle before you left. Cando my grandmother who taught me to cook did say It is easier to put a pint in a two pint pot than two pints in a one pint pot.
Done: out and drunk and eaten and I can manage and I want fewer drinks and less food than I did home and showed friend my new bookcases etc. She asked if I got all the new furniture would I keep it tidy and I said I was not sure but I might.
Todo: make bed prayer and reflection bed and sleep
Night Everyone

Mouse all the best for your trip. Must have been very difficult all the hastle before you left. Thank you! It turned out to be less hassle than I thought. Still not what I would have wished for two days before my departure, but I managed. Horror of horrors, the repair guy ended up having to come into my apartment and into my bedroom(!!!) which is where the place is currently at its most untidy in order to check my fusebox. AUGH! Still, the bedroom is just cluttered and messy, not horribly squalorous. If he'd come in at the beginning of the week, I would have died of shame. Well, metaphorically, anyway. As it was, the place was messy, but a messy-because-I'm-cleaning kind of messy, and so it wasn't too bad. Yes, I know, the guy doesn't actually care what my place looks like, but it still made me squirm. Cando my grandmother who taught me to cook did say It is easier to put a pint in a two pint pot than two pints in a one pint pot. Okay, this made me laugh very, very hard. Also, allow me to sympathize: I can't seem to cook spaghetti sauce without getting it everywhere as well. Onto my ta-das! - Put away books in the living room - Ran the Scooba in the dining room (again) - Put the furniture back in the dining room - Vacuumed the living room (I got interrupted, so it's not finished) - Picked up most of the trash in the living room (right before the repair guy got here!) - Bought a new pair of sandals - Went to the pharmacy - Made a side-trip and got some books I've been meaning to buy - found a temporary home for the cardboard box I'm not quite done, but I'm going out for the evening quite soon. The rest is all stuff I can handle when I get back and tomorrow morning before my trip. It's all downhill from here, baby! ~Mouse
