I have done nothing yet. Except start this thread and post on the pet loss support board. Today I just need to get thru the day. Last Saturday and Sunday were the last 2 days with Meena and her care was very intense. I am left feeling very sad today. Plans are: - go take care of SILs dogs at noon for a half hour or so - pen club (no one signed up but I may go myself for a decent lunch) - plan video - shower & just take care of myself & Marble kitty

Good morning Chris, I hope you can have a good day today.
I slept pretty late, although I did have to get up twice during the night to feed the cats, instead of once. They ate everything I gave them too, so they really were hungry.
TO DO:
Finish breakfast Clean up from breakfast Scoop litter pans Pigeon care
It's funny, I know for people who work Monday through Friday, the weekend is what they look forward to all week. Since my work schedule is the same every day (not to mention greatly reduced these days) the weekend days are the same as any other day--in fact, I don't like these 2 days because there are more people making noise in the building, there are more people at stores, and my favorite weekday political shows aren't on. So I look forward to Monday, instead of Saturday!
Of course, even when I worked full time, I usually worked both weekend days, so my days off were during the week--I liked that. So weekends never meant to me what it did to other people--except when I was in school, of course.
And speaking of the weekend--don't forget DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME overnight tonight!
Diane

Hi chrisSorry for your grief. Losing our sweet companion animals, our family, is so hard. I have s lovely children’s book about the death of a cat. I’ll try to remember the name -just beautiful for adults too I had not posted on the weekday thread since Monday. I had a difficult and busy week. My boss was on vacation and a big project blew up and I had to deal. It had nothing to do w my job but I could not do my job as I had to help fix this. I had to work late each night but one. Just really knocked me out. I was pretty depressed as I just wanted to say no and stay in bed and not deal. So last week I just did my dailies for the most part. So daily dishes. Daily litter cleaning. A little laundry. Minimal all else. Some sweeping some pick up and teensy bit of mail sorting. Some bathroom cleaning. So this weekend, I have so much to do. Basic housework Vac house Clean bathroom Mop k floor Deal w mail/ lately my mail box has been overflowing. Stuffed to the brim - I do an automatic recycling of some but others end up in a stack. Submit some forms and write checks. The constant need to meet deadlines for school and extra curricular activities and church stuff wears on me. Every week I have some stupid deadline. Sick. Of. It. So sick of it. The next two weeks at work are going to be really busy too. Then it should be “normal.” I am kind of over whelmed w it all. Next more coffee then dine financial work then a shower then forms

Hi Diane Yes yes yes I love weekends. But I know what you mean. If I am on vacation on a Tuesday and I get to mop my floor, I feel so like a rock star that on a Tuesday I have the freedom to mop at 11 am Chris the book is Cat Heaven by Cynthia Rylant. Sweet and beautiful. I love the art. There is a part where the cat goes to see their people. I miss some dearly loved animals. One in particular suffered greatly. May God give him an extra snuggle this very minute

i do love weekends... i hate having to be anywhere. but also hate them because there are too many people everywhere. and they SMOKE. and wear perfume. hate hate hate. i feel the same way about spring. yay the air is not painful on my face! uh, who tf are all these people, go away!
i did dog care for big bad dog. had cup tea. ate banana.
i think i will take another decongestant 1/4 because congestion is the thief of doing and thinking. and have something else to eat and more tea... then i will get! all! the things! done!

Weekends don't mean a lot to me, now that I'm retired. One nice thing, though, is that I don't have to feel guilty about procrastinating on certain business-y stuff, because a lot of places are closed on the weekends. (Or at least Sundays.)
I've been out to Aldi and caught up on some Quicken entries.
First round of To Do's --Continue with laundry (Done) --Pay two bills (Done, and took them to the PO) --Empty dishwasher (Done)
Spent about a half hour on phone calls... Picked up cheese I couldn't get at Aldi, while out going to PO...
More To Do's --Get bed remade with fresh sheets --Clean out purse (Done, and ended up rolling a bunch of coins) --Cut up the rest of the cauliflower (Done)
After Dinner To Do's --Walk with DH --Flip laundry yet again --Change my watch, clock in car

Magda -- thank you for the book reference!!! I'm sorry for your stressful/depressing week & hope your weekend has some joy and fun in it along with the catching up!!! Diane -- thank you for the Spring Forward reminder! puppybox -- oh I agree about perfume and smoke ... I can quickly go from okay to suffering from those irritants and don't get me started on the fragrances from air "freshners". ..... dusty -- hi ... Sundays also give me a bit less guilt.

hi everypony!
(((chris))) (((magda))) tender hugs for the grieving--loss of kitties and loss of dreams.
I'm not a fan of weekends, cause they usually trigger guilt about all the "fun" I am supposed to be having. Also with my new schedule, they are my busiest, and I haven't gotten the rhythm of prepping for them during the week yet.
And THIS weekend is the. worst. night. of. the. year. (DST begins).
I need to turn my attitude around. Gonna go post on the gratitude thread.
