Good afternoon Weekend crew!! I need to seriously get moving! We have a birthday celebration to get ready for tonight for my oldest child. Thankfully we are doing at my mom's so I don't need to clean. But I need to prep food to take over there. My daughter (28) requested taco bar .... "something easy" she said. Well it is but still need to cook meat and chop and prep stuff. I have had 0 energy this am. I think I am mentally preparing for being tired the next couple days. Not only do we lose an hour sleep tonight, but I am also covering the super early shift for someone on vacation the next 2 days. So I have to be to work at 4 am on Sunday and 3 am on Monday. *yawn*

Good afternoon everyone! Now that the day is half over, I'm finally ready to work. I came home from my senior client's, after a frustrating session trying to figure out something on her computer. After I got home I ate lunch and took a reading break, and then I got another computer related phone call from my senior client--me on the phone, not seeing her computer, and being totally unfamiliar with Windows10, trying to tell her (who knows NOTHING about computers) how to figure out if her Windows10 update had happened. Suffice to say it was not a successful phone call. Then I got a long call from my decluttering client. But now I will try to do something productive. TO DO: Clean up from lunch Cat feeding 7 minutes on books Tuck in and vacuum couch cover Diane

I don't get the guilt on weekends thing. If you want to have fun and aren't, why don't you have fun? If you don't want to have fun, or if the things that most people consider fun aren't fun for you (that would be me) why would you feel guilty about it? Hello Angie, your work schedule sounds daunting, and a birthday party too--when exactly are you going to be able to sleep? Diane

I totally zonked out. sinus inflamation and a wave of exhaustion. that was quite wrong. thinking it was a reaction to something i ate. the cheap on sale frozen item from the store where there sales might mean something dodgy happened. or the very old ice cream bar. or the chocolate almonds, i never buy those. i feel better now though. hmm. my body can't be trusted.
should i go out to a thing? its cold and it would require showering and washing hair. would be good for me probably. but can't really afford it. hmm.

Hello Angie, your work schedule sounds daunting, and a birthday party too--when exactly are you going to be able to sleep? Diane I don't have guilt on weekends --- I have it every day! !! Oh yes I was not happy when I realized I had to cover the early shifts on the time change weekend. But we only have 3 people that can cover that early shift ... the man who does it 5 days a week (he is in Vegas this week!), me and my boss. She does the last 2 days of the week normally. We lost the other person we had so it means when he is off, she covers 5 days and I do 2. Sunday and Monday are the only days I can work that early shift. Husband works Tues-Sat. When I asked my daughter if she wanted a family celebration and offered any day in the month, she chose this weekend. hahaha!! Saturday night worked best for my sister's family. I guess it's better than Sunday, which we usually opt for because at least I am awake enough to cook today. Tomorrow I will no doubt take a nap after work. When I get off, I have to pick up hubby from dealership. He's dropping my car off for me. Tonight will be more like a nap. I doubt I will get to sleep before 10:30 or 11 and then roll out of bed at 3. But I did it for many many years, so a couple days in row won't kill me.

TA DA Mexican rice prepped and started in Instant Pot (decided I would make now and we can heat up at party. Timing is so tricky when traveling with food.) Rotate laundry - last load of bedding in dryer. Small load of darks in washer -- waiting to start after my shower and after hubby gets home (can't believe I am caught up!!!) Start ground beef in skillet Bagged up jars of sauces, tortillas, taco shells, etc into heavy duty shopping bags to transport to party

I could get though my lists faster if I didn't go off on tangents. While cleaning out some paper from my filing cabinet I came across some 2016 calendars that had beautiful pictures of birds, including one I had never seen or heard of before, so I had to go look it up. It was an Arctic Redpoll--a tiny little bird that actually lives from the Canadian border north all the way up into Greenland. And it's so small--amazing how such a tiny bird can create enough body heat to survive in such cold.
Then I saw a piece of paper with "boilerplate" on it. And I got to wondering the origin of the term boilerplate when referring to documents. So I had to look that up.
Now it's almost time for dinner, and I'm not getting all that much done.

nah, looking those things up is real life, chores are much less important nothings.
that said, i keep having the good fortune that when i get bored, slow and distracted, something pops into my life to make me reminded why i'm doing this. (one big reason is i need to be available to help my mother who is getting old, there are others, like being able to esacpe with dogs in an emergency, or let people in if there's an emergency, and more).
up i go! its doggy time atm,

Diane ... I know oh so well about working on things and then they lead to others. I would have come back and checked in earlier, but J takes over my computer and then I just forget about it. I did take advantage of the computer being available to take care of bills/checkbook before checking in here. I think if I had popped in here first, I would not have done it. I may not get bedding done now until tomorrow afternoon. I need to get my shower done. We are leaving in 1 hour. I FOUND THIS THAT I HAD NOT POSTED FROM SEVERAL HOURS AGO
Chris, I do that all the time!
Angie, the toppings for the tacos are making me hungry...I'm vegetarian so I would have to have beans in the tacos, but love the tomatoes and onions, etc. Maybe I'll have a frozen burrito for dinner! I have tomatoes and salsa and sour cream for garnish.
I did not get to the book box, when I looked in it I remembered that I had piled miscellaneous (not sale) books on top of it when I did the LR purge, so I dealt with those instead.
