Welcome, Maryaz! Sounds like you're in a tough hole, but beginning to climb out of it, and that's what counts! We are here to help you along. As bad as it seems, try to visualize it when it is all done and work towards that image! It will come true, with time, effort and help! Hugs! Carrie

well still focused on dog issues. And we have been having thunder grumbles so he's been in the house some. NOT the way things are supposed to be! So I've been backsliding and trying to have a pity party and fighting that impulse.
Today he goes back to the vet to check on the ear infection; I'm wondering if that is exaggerating the thunder issue. So today will probably be more of a 5 minute room rescue kind of day.
Breakfast chores
set up outside brooder so I can move chicks out of living room
5 min each room bathroom living room bedroom desk kitchen
afternoon chores drink more water 5 pints down
other accomplishments I did pick up the mail yesterday and have dealt with that, paying 2 bills that came and filing them away. I had more money in paypal than I realized and have transferred some over to the bank. I cut some greens for the chickens been too long since I did that. Watered a garden space that really needed it and some potted plants.
I was really feeling like not doing anything this afternoon when I got back from the vet's but made myself do 5 min in each room. Didn't recover everything that has been sliding but is an improvement and took out 2 bags of trash. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day!

Thank you @carrie I was really on a roll but with the dog issue feels like 2 steps forward and 3 steps back! Trying not to have a pity party

Two steps forward and three back is better than NO steps forward and three back! oh you are so right! or just sliding all the way down to the bottom of the dark pit! We really have to figure in some setbacks, right? Life is gonna do that to us ... so the trick is to get ahead over the long haul and not get discouraged! At worst, we can slide into the dark pit at a slower rate!

OK so it's *supposed* to be sunny today but woke up to clouds and not sure I heard a thunder grumble. Poor dog is terrified of thunder. Will go out and check on him in a few and hope he is not too freaked out. I have not heard him bark this morning which is unusual. (He's a livestock guardian dog living with the chickens). So otherwise today's list: breakfast chorespick and wash veg for market tomorrow; I think there is only a little kale. pick herbs and flowersplant out seedlingsunload feed afternoon choresdrink more water 5 pints down kitchen oops laundry folded up the clothes that were hanging in the living room since the rainy day desk nada

So no real list today; I had to be 2 places at once. Fortunately my daughter filled in at one market while I did the other. Not wonderful for sales, but not zero either.
I have ate and drank, even had a couple pints of water. I brushed my teeth this morning and took out some trash this afternoon.
I seemed to have fixed the escaping dog issue at least until it thunders, then all bets are off when 100 pounds of terrified dog hits things full force.
I have eggs due to hatch tomorrow; they probably won't start until evening but it's possible I'll wake up to peeping. I love that.
I realized today why I've been soooo drug out, dead dog tired. The shingles are back. Mine are easy, a nickel size patch of blisters on my tail bone. An extreme itchy spot under my right shoulder blade. Occasional random head itches. Nothing terribly painful as long as I don't touch the blisters. But makes me feel like I'm running a fever (usually not according to the thermometer tho), makes me feel just totally exhausted, like I put in a 100 hour week. So I'm just goofing off the rest of the evening. The only chore left is to feed the dog as soon as the chickens go to bed (otherwise they eat his food). And brush my teeth. Then think I'll just go to bed early and hope I'm not too tired tomorrow to get anything useful accomplished.

woke up early this morning and have a chick out already, with another one working on it. Happy Day! Lets see what I can get done today:
Breakfast chores laundry; nope, really wasn't sure it wasn't going to rain and didn't want to dodge wet clothes in the LR all day
desk did my 15 min. Doesn't look like much, but I did kitchen; ah well, my down fall. Perhaps tomorrow
afternoon chores drink more water 2 pint down today's focus area from the front door to the steps, then up the driveway. Getting so I can hardly walk from the car into the house and junk in the driveway has accumulated so I can't get the truck into the back if I need to unload something.
Also, I am seriously contemplating buying a large prefab storage building. I *could* build one for much less. HOWEVER at this point the idea of having it delivered and set up and be ready to just finish the inside and use it is wonderful. I am looking at a 10x20 with a barn style roof which has a short loft in it for some extra storage. This would give me space to store feed, tools, winter clothes and misc stuff as well as giving me a space for the dog when it thunders and I'm not home. It would really alleviate the space crunch in the house since I currently have NO weatherproof storage for feed, tools or anything else that needs to stay dry and protected. I could probably also squeeze my chick brooders in there if I can get electric run to it. And put in a nice workbench and storage so I can find all my tools and parts and work on projects. SOOOO in order for this to happen I have to get the driveway and back area cleaned up and in order so there is space for them to get in.
Other accomplishments After cleaning up the area around the front door I saw the 2 rhubarb plants I bought and decided where to plant them, went to clear the area and discovered there was some volunteer garlic drying up and ready to pull so pulled all of it in that garden space, added a bag of rabbit manure to the planting area (which also removed said bag from the driveway) and planted the rhubarb.
Started working on the junk pile right by the front steps; I think some of that stuff has been there a couple of years. pulled up some weeds trees. Took away a couple bags of trash, a little bit of stuff to the compost pile, dumped a bag of rabbit manure on a bed I want to plant squash in and covered it with 2 bags of shredded paper and got it all watered in.
Got some of the chicken water bucket washed up and hung in pens (some pens are empty; some have temporary waterers sitting on bricks.) These buckets have drinking nipples on the bottoms and hang up out of the way.
All in all a pretty productive day; still actually a bit shocking to see all the clear open space by the front door!

IMO buying a large prefab storage building would be great for you. You already do SO much!! Livestock and farming and keeping up with the outside environments as well as working on the inside of homes. (My condolences on the loss of your mother). Taking care of her and her affairs plus selling produce and tending new chicks (so sweet ) ~ you deserve the ease and immediate extra space having a prefab building would give you. This is a perfect time of year also because you would have plenty of time to get it prepped for winter.
Just the idea of a brand new, clean, fresh, workable space to organize and give you breathing room sounds like heaven! And very motivating!

danny15 thank you for your kind words, yes lots of work and not paying off yet, but I keep trying and hoping. Got more chicks hatched over night. Actually I'm quite late this year, usually I start in Feb and am done by now. Working early today so a short list: Breakfast choresKITCHEN afternoon choresunload feed put out oystershell freshen nest boxes (if it's not raining) drink more water 4 pints down Supposed to have isolated thunderstorms so won't try to do any data entry, the lights blink out too much. Going to skip laundry too. Might just play with chickies Well this was a crazy day; supposed to only work until 12 but stayed until 430. so not much done at all. Came home and took more chicks out of the incubator. Went to bed early, I was just wore out.

OK so today is a new day. Todays list is mostly a repeat of yesterday.

unload feed put out oystershell freshen nest boxes drink more water 2 pintes down get glasses fixed (they are super loose and I can't get them to tighten up) didn't get there yet
Gift for grand daughters graduation I gave her some cash towards getting her car fixed and spent most of the afternoon going through pics on my computer. I made her a 4 page card with a collage of pics from when she was little. She really loved it.

maryaz - if you keep at it, the results will come. That's one of the great things about this forum. I think being on here, even with some long breaks, has kept me from surrendering to overwhelm. Just knowing there are people here who will cheer me on in whatever effort I make ... keeps me going even when I'm not posting. Takes away that feeling of "nobody notices, nobody cares, why bother"

larataylor you are so right; having my list here to cross off, to have people that understand and commiserate with me is really helpful and motivating! and it helps me with that overwhelm. Also the success stories here and at the original site (I read things over there too) really help keep me going. to know other people have been where I am, or even in worse circumstances and managed to dig their way out is soooo encouraging.

so tired and moving slow after a late night.
breakfast chores
nest boxes get glasses looked at drink more water 2 pints down
afternoon chores
whatever else I think of. mostly have just been piddling around on the internet and some in the yard. Giving some plants a slow soak so moving the hose every 15 min. Did pick and throw away some trash outside. Really have felt like going back to bed all day. But unless I am seriously sick that does not end well, throwing my days and nights off.
