magda, I joined SooS January 1st of this year. One of the things that totally inspired me to join this thread was watching you finish 2019 things even though the arbitrary deadline had passed. I have faith you will finish 2020 also!

Thanks! I will definitely need that. I will imagine that you and everyone you know are cheering me on, and that there's only one cynic betting against me.

you can do it, goldenthreads! i am awed by your push toward the finish line! i'm going to tally up and then start counting - i have over 3 1/2 hrs left, here in the PacNW.
previous total; 1803
63 papers that i had clipped from quilting magazines (kept hundreds more) 1 pr of new wool socks to a homeless guy who rides his bike everywhere
these i gave to a new lady who moved here, having lost everything in the Calif. fires: 2 tension-spring rods for smaller windows 5 11 x 14" art prints by moi 1 pr paper scissors 5 pens 2 pencils, new 1 beautiful batik fabric that she loved
81 total, plus 1803 = 1884. still have 136 things to go!
we can do it, goldenthreads!

go go go! you're almost there! (now i want to cut up your favorite but non repairable shirt to use in a quilt or encourage you to repurpose the shirt - baaaad me! don't listen to me! ) Don't think it would work. It's a black-and-white striped thin silk turtleneck, and it's knit, not woven. You'd probably have to build a whole new project around it, and we know where that could go! OK, back to work, creativechaos and goldenthreads!

thank you for the reality check, goldenthreads!
more items gone.
14 more quilting magazine papers 1 cute lil' cardboard box i will NOT save for jewelry or a gift
took to laundry room for giveaway: 1 lb organic wheat flour 1 2-lb coconut flour 7 - 5 oz.cans of fancy EXPENSIVE cat food that cat refused to eat (various brands) 1 winter squash that tastes bland (tried another like it. ) 1 lg bottle of too-perfumey hand cream, given as a gift 1 packet swiss miss hot chocolate mix 2 cans of beans 3 bags of fancy imported dried fruits 1 sm bag of organic coffee (don't drink the stuff) 1 unopened packet of cat treats (he only eats the crappy brands!) 1 packet of an Indian curry meal (gastronomic horror for me)
35 items. previous total 1884 - new total 1919
still 101 items to go to make 2020 - may not make it. i'll go for the low hanging fruit - papers

39 calendar pages misprints with black ink, already set aside - painful and expensive mistakes... color ones can maybe be recycled. resisted the idea of cutting them into quarters for "scratch paper."
took out that full bag of paper recycle to recycle dumpster
1958 new total: only 62 left to make 2020
a cool addendum; a friend brought me a piece of homemade new year's pie and i realized she could use most of the foods in the bag i took to the laundry room so i went and got it to give her and she took all but the cat food which i left there.
