done: -scrubbed second household bucket inside and out -put away dry dishes -spot vacuumed and emptied vacuum canister -washed vacuum filter, both the pad and the entire, removable mechanism.
todo -finish current laundry -take down dry laundry, fold, and put away -move litter box another stage towards final destination. -at some point, set up a new litter box in final destination so it won't be something new to them.
All the little steps are adding up. There is still much to do, but there is a difference. I can see it, and I can feel it.

Washed dishes. Made bed, had meds, and drank my water in the sunshine. Finished grocery list and got ready to go on errands. 🚘 Make appointment to swap out tires. Put glass jars in a box on shelf, and discard the rest. Clean spot on sofa. Errands: go to pharmacy, library, and grocery store, and get gas. Kitchen tasks: make bread (?), prep some vegetables for handier use. Mow back lawn. Check: are two of my tires in the garage, or are they in my storage unit? PUPA 5 minutes. Get ready for weekend. Usual afternoon stuff: go for a walk (?), work 5 minutes on boxes and get rid of5+ things, work 10 minutes on table. Respond to daughter about weekend.

gaylem, I have them for using--I just have too many. I use them for pasta and dried beans. Emptied & washed little spice jars are reused for my own herb/spice blends. I was about to get rid of a bunch when I thought I remembered seahorse saying that she does salad prepping and then puts the components in jars in the fridge, which would be great for me because I need to up my vegetable consumption, but I also need to spot them easily in order to have a regular visual reminder. (The jars are nothing special. They are just old peanut butter jars, spice jars, etc. Extras will be recycled.) Checked, and two of my tires are in the garage. Also pulled out the mower. Put away dry dishes. PUPA 5 minutes. Make appointment to swap out tires. Put glass jars in a box on shelf, and discard the rest. Clean spot on sofa. Kitchen task: prep some vegetables for handier use. Mow back lawn. Get ready for weekend. done -laundry tasks -food prep -chicken broth made and strained -cleaned to 'good enough' the outside of the vacuum - never, ever have done that before. doing now -enjoying a break with fresh hot tea -playing on the computer todo -divide chicken broth and freeze -more laundry -dishes Being a good hoarder, I have lots of small jars, esp half pint canning jars. I appreciate the uniformity. I don't can anymore, but I do use them for all manner of things, esp artsy craftsy endeavors. I also have a lot of pint jars.

make bed take meds take dog out for potty break (dog has had surgery) dressed bathe unload dishwasher scrub dinner pots reload dishwasher dishes washing; sink clean wash one load of clothes hang out one load of laundry fold load of laundry fold kitchen towels and cleaning cloths wipe out drawers and put away kitchen towels / cloths take out recycling take out trash new bin liner put away cleaning products when done put away dog dishes fold quilts drawers 2-4 in bathroom purged of crap and reloaded neatly. Pray for me on drawer 1; it is a disaster in need of work wash bath rugs and hang outside wash guest sheets hang sheets out begin working in threes in bedroom -o'lawd it's bad begin working in threes in craft / sales room - o'lawd, it's worse edit / delete / renew / put on sale items in Etsy shop put item on FB marketplace put away costume jewelry wipe out bathroom sink identify items and add to Habitat box drink water empty laundry basket so it can be used for its intended purpose rehab dog outside again rehab dog - washed pillow and case for her I know everyone has their own opinion about the show Hoarders, but I've been watching the 2020 episodes and doing the following: 1) identifying behaviors I see on there that I do not want to escalate or perpetuate here. 2) focusing on maintenance plus (plus work in a cluttered room, plus grouping packing materials, plus sorting items for sale / donate). Basically anything that expands my three-room maintenance is maintenance plus, but it's a slow go. 3) blessing my home and being grateful for the hoarder / mess problems I do *not* have, such as leaks, non-functional appliances / plumbing, vermin, etc. (Not judging, just trying feel gratitude for problems I don't have, because I still feel very daunted about this house and garage and back yard.) Yes, I am 'wasting time' by watching others' clean-up work or being sucked into their drama and problems, but I do think it helps me to be reminded where this could end up *quickly* if one or the other of us became disabled or had (another) fall / injury. I am trying to use it as a guide, not vicarious viewing.

Every once in a while, I give myself amnesty and go to the glass hopper down the street.

soapycleanWell, I agree with you. Using these as both guides and cautionary tales is worth your time. (When I was new here, I read every single current post on this forum for months, and I learned a lot. But eventually I realized I was spending hours a day here, and had to cut back on my story time when I realized that that was what it was becoming.) Good luck on Drawer #1! Congratulations on the folding space. Started dishes soaking. Started getting ready for weekend. Made bed, had meds. Get dressed. Wash dishes. PUPA 5 minutes. Make appointment to swap out tires. Put glass jars in a box on shelf, and discard the rest. Clean spot on sofa. Kitchen task: prep some vegetables for handier use. Get ready for weekend. Get gas.
