Yes welcome. I retired from teaching a month ago and was involved in a car accident on my way home from my last day of work.. my car was also totalled. This hasn’t been how I expected my retirement to start- looking at what cars were available to buy, having to cope with covid lockdowns. This site is motivating. Good luck. See you around

Welcome, @tildy ! My experience with a car being totaled and resulting injuries to my shoulder especially, happened in 2013. So I wanted to give you and ausmel1 encouragement—eventually healing will have made things better, you will become used to your new vehicles, and you will be more able to move forward. Meanwhile, this is a time to be as kind and patient to yourself as possible. Getting as much rest as you can will help the healing, as will eating good food, drinking plenty of water, regular meals, etc. in other words, self-care is crucial right now. I tried hard to keep up with my schedule and drove myself too hard, when I needed much rest—but didn’t realize it at the time. This is a very caring community—I’m glad you found your way to us.
