What happened to Squalor Survivors? I tried to log in and got an error message "IE cannot display the webpage" as if it simply disappeared! Please let me know what is going on, and help reassure me that it will be available soon!

Hi Crazycatlady, I can't get into the SS website either (the static pages and community area) and have spoken to a few others having the same problem. If several of us can't get in, I suspect we've reached shutoff point and the site is being worked on as we speak...perhaps someone more in the 'know' may be able to confirm. It is D-day down under and only a few hours off for the other side of the world...  |

I believe that PigPen sent a mass e-mail to all registered users (today), saying a good-bye and thank you. She refers users to SOS and LiveJournal.
with regards to the OLD FORUM: I personally have been having problems with log-in, postings, time outs, error messages and lost posts for WEEKS AND WEEKS.
One thing that is so nice about SOS: it works like a charm for me!

Today, it appears, Pigpen is working on disabling the blog section of Squalor Survivors.
A couple of days ago, I noticed that we were able to post to our blogs when we were not supposed to be able to do so. So that is probably what she is working on fixing right now.
My guess is that this disabling of the different areas of SS is very complex.
So if you're looking to copy over or backup any portions of your own blog, be patient. Hopefully you will be able to get back online to do that soon.
Oddly, I don't see many members listed whenever I log on to SS lately, so maybe everyone has already backed up whatever they wanted to back up.
