Coming up next.......
Like the WIT thread, this is a place to list the jobs you want (need!) to get done next. This can be a list of 3, or it could be just 1 single job, big or small. It could also be all the jobs you want to get done by the end of today! Whatever works for you!
You can come back and check off what you've done or just refer to it whilst you work, and not post again. You can cheer on others and ask for support, or you can just lurk and get inspired by others achievements. Again, whatever works for you!

It's been a while since I posted. Although I do pop in from time to time to get motivation. Things are really bad at the moment and I have several works planned by my landlord, so I need to get this place sorted!
Coming up next...
Fill at least one bag of recycling Fil at least one bag of rubbish Use the BDG method all day

Good idea Sapphire. I hope it works for you. I feel I need to try something new to get motivated. I have been doing a lot of decluttering on and off the past 2 years. I have moved out most of 5he clutter from 2 rooms, but I’m finding it hard to finish. It’s coming up to bedtime here, and I need to wash the dishes before I go to bed. Goodluck on getting things done today.oh and what is the BDG method?

Thanks Ausmel. It's so hard when you can't get the motivation. Sometimes finding a new method, or new challenge is what's needed. But even then, it's hard to put it into practice if you're just not feeling it. The BDG Method is an old and trusted method we use here on SoS. It was a method posted by a much loved member here, BDG. Unfortunately, she's no longer with us. However, her legacy is that a lot of us still use her technique. Another old technique we use is another beloved member, Meme's 222 Rule, which is a little similar. Here's a link to a thread where these methods are discussed. Hope it's helpful to you. BDG Method

Thanks Saphire for the link. Yes I do things like that- challenge myself to get a load of dishes washed as I wait for the kettle to boil. I also try to see how many small tasks I can get done during ad breaks when I watch tv. I got the dishes washed, so in the morning I will - wash my hair - put dry dishes away - go to appointment

I've not done a hell of a lot. However, using the BDG method, Ive managed to fill 1 carrier bag with rubbish and half a bin bag with recycling. I also checked on a friend whose granddaughter has Covid.
Coming Up next...
Carry on collecting rubbish and recycling every time I get up.
Make lunch.
Tackle cat's knots. (I have a medium haired cat that hates being brushed on her legs, so every now and again she needs matts snipped out).
Take toilet roll upstairs to the bathroom.

Made lunch. Carried on with the picking up of rubbish/recycling or putting things away every time I leave the room. Started tackling the cat's matts. (she won't tolerate it for more than a few minutes at a time) My hallway and stairs are completely junked up and cluttered. It's mostly rubbish and recycling, so shouldn't be too challenging, The only problem is finding somewhere to put the rubbish and recycling when I've bagged it up. We only have a recycling collection once a fortnight, and our rubbish collection is once every 3 weeks!! Even then we can only put out 2 wheelie bins full. So most of it'll have to stay in the hallway, but at least it'll be organised and not all over the place. And the smellier stuff (eg: food shopping that never got eaten and never even made it to being put away when it was bought! Yes I know how disgusting that is! ) will be banished! With that in mind.... Coming up next...Continue collecting rubbish/ recycling and putting away something every time I change rooms. Spend 12 minutes (at least) in the hallway, tackling the chaos. Chop up a little more of my Christmas tree. (I've been gradually cutting it into small pieces over the past couple of months for my garden waste collection wheelie bin). Type important email. (putting off works on house)

Okay, I slacked off. The email took longer than expected. I just couldn't get myself motivated to face the hallway/stairs. It doesn't help that today has been rainy and dark! I've had to have the curtains closed and light on in the living room as it's been so dark. I don't have a window in my hall aside from a small one in the front door. So unless it's sunny, my hallway is exceptionally dark. I will do it tomorrow, no matter what the weather. That is a promise I am making myself (well, not the whole lot! Just 12 mins minimum that I set myself. Working on the principle that 12 mins a day for 5 days is 1 whole hour! Yay!). DoneChopped a little more of my Christmas tree. Composed and typed email. Continued picking up and throwing/putting away at least 3 things every time I leave the room. Coming up next...It's 7pm now so... Make dinner. Make daughter's packed lunch for tomorrow (she's an adult with special needs and goes to a club every Thursday). Continue with picking up and putting away throughout the evening. Put a bag of recycling out in the wheelie bin. Empty and recycle the half empty cans on my desk. Good luck to anyone reading and/or joining in.

Good morning. During lockdowns I did an exercise program on tv every morning. I have got a bit slack doing that lately, finding excuses to not join in. I’m glad I did turn the tv on this morning, the exercise was zumba which makes me smile and is a nice way to start the day. We only get our rubbish picked up once a fortnight sapphire. I don’t know how it would go having it only picked up once every three weeks. I only have about one to 2 shopping bags of rubbish once a week, so it isn’t too bad for me, but my neighbours don’t recycle, compost or even squash their rubbish down so their bins are often overflowing and smelly. We are able to put food scraps into our green waste wheels bins so that cuts my rubbish down a lot and that gets picked up every week. Just squashing plastic bottles and flattening cardboard boxes before I put them in the recycling really allows me to get much more in the recycling bin.
Done - washed hair
Next up - put dry dishes away Take recycling out to wheely bin Check weather forecast and emails ( waiting on reply )

Hi ausmel, I'm glad you got a workout done this morning. Sounds like it gave you a nice pick-me-up. Well done on getting everything else achieved.
I, too, squash everything to within an inch of its life before squashing into the recycling bin, and I have 2 recycling wheelies. It would be plenty enough room if I was at maintenance, not doing way overdue backdated clearing out!
I've started a new thread for today, so I'll pop back over there.
