Hi guys!
I opened up this thread, becaise I need a space for my own created waste reducing challenge. While covid hit, we a lot of tinned and dry food, that fills up so much space everywhere. I want to reduce all those packets of noodles, rice and other stuff, by throwing away the gone bads and use the one still good.
Included are all the fresh ones as well, no use in using the durable when meat, fruits, dairy and vegs go all stinky and mush.
I invite you to cook along as well and share your recepies, if you like.
Please refrain from dicussions about eating habits, wastes and eco stuff and if it is better to eat healthy, vegan, etc. or not!
Thanks a bunch!

I had some miscancelanious carrots, two apples close to turning and far too much onions ( I need to keep using them during the next days)
I used a quick pickle method, that intrigued me weeks ago and put them in two empty gurken jars.
Easy to make: 250 ml of water 250 ml of white vinegar ( you also can use fruity vinegar on half of it) 3 tablespoons of salt 3 tablespoons of honey ( or 4 of sugar) I added half a teaspoon of white pepper and powdered red pepper for taste
It says, let sit for several hours. I have no clue, if I like it or not, but I'll tell you later.
It is gonna be served with patties/ meatballs from pigs ground and salted cooked potatoes.

Opened the fridge and took out some little wiener we seem to have missed at oure last BBQ session. Cut them to pieces, fried them with tomato paste, garlic and a but of butter and then added in the rest of the noodles from yesterday.
Quick, easy and no thinking for my tired brain requiered. I am going to eat and then head to bed. See you soon.
