This is the Working in Threes thread EVERYONE IS WELCOME, even if you've never posted before! The guidelines are simple:
- Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing.
Once you have 3 things done, post them here.
- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again.
Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
.... YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post. Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da!
If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you.
Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM!

Good morning, Rosebud! Thanks for starting the thread, and you're already off to a busy start this morning. Between stormy weather and sickness, I haven't done much or been online much the last couple of days. What I had apparently wasn't food poisoning, because it's been caught by other family members and its also going around at hubby's work. Weird time of year for a rotavirus bug. I have a lot to catch up on, in baby steps. ta da's: 1)Shampooed a 4 A.M. huge barf accident out of son's bedroom carpet. (as an aside, I cannot overstress how glad I am that his room was decluttered before this happened. Whew! Thanks to all of you for inspiring me to declutter! This was a messy job, but it would have been much worse if the floor was covered in toys and books. ) 2)Caught up on email 3)Picked up some toys in living room To do's Find out what smells weird in the kitchen scoop out cat box take a shower Have a great morning, and I'll be back later on. I might take a nap this morning if the kids do. Did not expect to wake up at 4 and steamclean today...

TaDa: 1) Got up while it was still morning (hee hee) 2) Caught up on email - found out about the old site & new sites ToDo: 1) Clear off & wipe down kitchen counters 2) Do the same for bathroom counters 3) Swish/swipe toilet As soon as those are done I'll be back! Glad to see you both here.

I had planned to get up early today, but there was such a nice breeze coming across my bed and I was so comfy that my first failed Ta dahs were:
1. Think about getting up, then decide to enjoy the nice breeze 2. Think about getting up, then decide to enjoy the nice breeze 3. Think about getting up, then decide to enjoy the nice breeze
so here's my next three:
1. Get up 2. Feed myself 3. Feed the cats

Hi there teachergrl and syzygy! Nice breezes are wonderful. It looks like it's clouding up outside here again for more storms, and I might throw open a couple of windows to get some pre-thunderstorm winds through here to air the place out. Syzygy, you were purifying the air in your home with that breeze--- yes, that's it! I veered somewhat off-course from my to-do's, but here's what I did: 1)Laundry in dryer 2)Showered and dressed 3)I had one really yucky item of laundry, and put it in the washer by itself with a cup or two (I didn't measure!) of vinegar. While the machine was filling up I wiped away the gray icky soapy furry stuff that collects inside the top of washers, and around the lid. Probably had been collecting for years there. Hopefully my machine will be nice and freshened up from the vinegar water, and the yucky garment will be rewashed with the next load. To do's 1)Load dishwasher (something is stinky in the sink) 2)Do a load of wash in newly cleaned machine. 3)Fold some laundry. See y'all in a bit.

Teachergrl, really great to see you here! Laughlinglark, sympathy for your early morning wake-up call. Hope you're able to get that nap in. Creativechaos, WTG on decent bedtime and making the bed this morning -- sorry I don't live near you so I couldn't buy some dahlias -- they are gorgeous (but I'd be afraid I'd end up killing them). Syzygy, I spent some quality time in bed even without those breezes. You're now up and out of bed and that's a good enough TADA. Thanks for starting the thread, Rosebud. Hope your son's trip is safe. And Pegasus48, your kitties and Dad are lucky to have you there to make breakfast.
TADAs: 1. Up 2. Meds 3. Some volunteer-related e-mails
TODOs: 1. Breakfast 2. Make bed 3. Out and about most of the day. Will try not to buy anything, thereby avoiding more clutter!
Have a good day, everyone!

Westsidestory, enjoy your wonderful day out and about! Quick update, my mom is doing great.... I found her this morning in the kitchen eating breakfast .... she's supposed to ask for help but try nursing a nurse-- not easy. My friend is back in ICU she took a turn for the worst yesterday, now it's not just the liver injury but her bile is filling up in her stomach and will probably need surgery (it's so hard to be away, i pray for the best. tadas -helped mom with knee exercises, dressed her and gave her a shower -made bed , mine, picked and put away anything of mine @ the house -called house sitter to check on things at my home, and the mother of friend in hospital todos -pick up PT tool for mom -take a shower -relax and regroup I'm finding that while I'm at my mom's it's a perfect opportunity to work on my maintenance issues, which has been a huge stuggle for me in the past. best, artsy -

Good Morning All It is about 6.40 am Monday morning in Melbourne, Australia. Every one is so positive and busy. I feel down and ashamed and overwhelmed. Have a horror 13 days coming up and I feel scared that I will freeze up and will not be able to get everything done. The squalor is work related and I have been too overwhelmed for the past 2 weeks and weekends to get anything done. I need to budget my time and to work effectively. So the goals are: 1. Eat 3 balanced meals a day. 2. Walk vigorously every day 3.Drink water and look after personal hygiene and appearance every day. 4.Keep house and kitchen tidy and have laundry up to date 5.Pick up doggy poo from garden and remember to water plants 4. Spend time on work squalor every day from now on. 5.Put over due personal non essential tasks (also squalor) that need to done off for a little bit more. I will not: 1. Spend hours and hours procrastinating by surfing the web or trying to work out how live journal works. 2. Spend too much time sleeping or eating. 3. Watch Reality Shows on TV I am tired of living with the secret shame of basic tasks undone and shortcuts taken. I have to do this differently this time. Ta das 1. Loaded dishwasher 2. Had coffee 3. Posted this To do 1. Shower2shoes, medicate, makeup and hair? 2.Eat breakfast and drink water despite feeling full from yesterday 3.Deal with doggy poo 4. Pack up stuff and go to work 5. Try to do the right thing by my employer RtJ

I have done some dusting in the house, and also cleaned my keyboard which was a mess! I tidied up a bit, but haven't started the laundry yet. I'm just procrastinating on that job. I hope to start it soon. I have so few days off this week. 3g is me

You're up at 6:40am? Heck, you're way ahead of me. I was still sleeping then!
Ta dah! * Brought in tent * Made dinner * Washed dinner dishes/pots
You know, I think this is going to be another one of those "tricks" I play on myself. If I do two things, then I tell myself that if I do one more, I can post. Yes, I know that I don't *have* to three, but if I can "trick" myself into doing one more thing, that's a big win for me!
