Good morning, all! Today is party day! Need to keep myself on track. Keeping in mind that "good enough" is plenty good. Main focus is to have fun with our friends.
Made Bed w/DH (1 minute) Brushed Teeth and took medication (2 minutes) Put drip-dry clothes away (2 minutes) Swish/Swipe bathrooms (4 minutes) - now that the bathrooms were cleaned yesterday, I can keep them that way with daily maintenance (Fly Lady) Bag up donations laying on closet floor Put seasonal clothes (in clear bins already) stacked in closet Decide how I want to tackle the Camper linen that is now stored in house over winter

Good morning itsybitsy! ta-da's: prepared and ate breakfast, took vitamins, and have been sipping on tea since then. rearranged stuff in dishwasher to fit a couple more items. Started dishwasher drilled hole in kitchen cabinet door for handle, attached handle and hung cabinet door. It's an upper cabinet door, and I didn't think I could hang it on my own, but I propped it with a plastic storage container and a few other odds and ends to bring it up to the correct height, and screwed it in. (I also replaced the knob on a drawn and put the drawer back in the cabinet, but that was easy.) to-do: Laundry? Empty dishwasher More kitchen work. I am currently in an "uncluttered" course and our assignment for this past week is to start to "experiment with less". My goal it to remove stuff from my kitchen cabinets that I haven't used in the past 6 months to a year, box it up, and then see how it goes for the next few months. If I find that I don't need those items in that period of time, I should be able to let most of that stuff go. The thing that gets me with this is that I haven't made cupcakes in the past few years, but I have enough cupcake tins to make at least 24 cupcakes at a time... Same for my loaf pans. I haven't used them for a couple of years. I'm not sure I'm ready to let go. I guess that in 3 months I can re-evaluate and get rid of some of the items. In a years time I might have a better idea. There are a few items that I might use seasonally. We'll see how this goes.

Bag up donations - about 20 items of clothing (5 minutes) Put Linens from camper, folded nicely, onto closet floor (15 minutes) Worked in kitchen with DH and started pulling out serving dishes for party (20 minutes) Transferred hangars and some clothing to walk-in closet (10 minutes) Moved seasonal clothing bins (4) to walk-in closet (10 minutes) Discussed party dishes and wine glasses (quantities) with DH. Only had one exchange with DH that was less than polite. The day is young! He unloaded and loaded dishwasher with smaller wine glasses (we only use the large ones, haha) and any plates that looked like they could use washing. Put DGS hockey game location in apple maps Set timer for departure to game, leaving enough time to get dressed Have second cup of coffee Gather up paperwork for next week's review - just bag it for now so it is out of sight and mind. Guess that's a mini-stash and dash. Okay - some perspective here - dealing with the linens upstairs was not prep for the party. However, I'm very happy to have it done and out of sight. It's directly across from my 'relaxing' chair and table. I was tired of looking at the tower of linens that toppled several times. Things are going well. Breathe...

Nice to see others up and at 'em. @ally that's a good way to experiment with less in the kitchen. I'd head to the kitchen baking items as well if I were to do that experiment. Let us know how it goes! missjean thank you for the well wishes. Your morning routine sounds soothing.

Bwahaha! itsybitsy evidently, my morning routine was going a bit too well. Then I broke a glass.... TA-DAH 1. Swept up small bits - and one just big enough to get stuck in the bare-floor head 2. Used a knife to remove glass piece into garbage 3. Rolled up kitchen rug, took outside, and shook into trash bin (which was obviously a silent witness to varmint-related shenanigans) 4. Swept small rug 5. Emptied vacuum into garbage 6. Took garbage bag to bin outside 7. Transferred sheets to dryer 8. Washed remaining glassware 9. Put tablecloth on dining table 10. Cleaned the lint trap and restarted the dryer 11. Shredded some old documents 12. Ran dust mop under beds - egads! TO DO 1. Make bed 2. Put rug back and vacuum again to make sure there's no glass left 3. Put away shoes

Came back from DGS hockey game. They didn't score any goals, but my gosh, all their skating skills have improved so much in the last month! Wonderful to see the progress. On the way home, DH and I discussed what needed to be done and in what order. Before we left the house 2 hours prior, I put the wild rice mixture in the rice cooker and got that going. Finished making two healthy salads. Cooked while DH washed dishes as I made them dirty. Swept the kitchen floor and did last tidy up. Went for walk with DH in the brilliant early afternoon sunshine. Just had to be careful on one icy stretch. The snow is hanging around, just enough to feel festive. I think it's a couple of degrees above freezing. Next two hours: Computer time (20 minutes). Catch up on SoS, the news, FB, email. Rest or nap (60 minutes) Shower and get dressed, a bit of make-up on (30 minutes) Lipstick on; glass of wine (10 minutes)
