Scholar, I've been meaning to figure out all the fixed expenses of this house since I moved here, and it's something I've never done. That's a good goal, and something I should do as a future challenge!

Time for a 5-day report. I'm about half-way finished with the cold-stratification on seeds, I have 4 kinds in the fridge, and there are 2 more that are seeds I just ordered that I definitely want to plant this spring, they will need it too. There might be other seeds I have that need it, I have only looked at the seeds that I'm sure about--I need to decide on the others and see if any need stratification because if they do I can't decide later to plant them, it will be too late. I spent 40 minutes on them, some of that was online research.
I also spent 20 minutes on plant room cleaning and 20 minutes on the hallway cupboard, the cupboard is finished. Plus 30 minutes on my 3 desk files and 3 days of old food. And, I spent one hour on my taxes--I've done everything I can do until my bank statement comes, which should be in the next couple of days. Oh, and potted up one cutting, a Tradescantia--I think the common name is Purple Heart plant. This is probably the last cutting I got from the library, that was quite a while ago and it's been in water ever since, I hope it adapts to the soil, I tried to make it light. The library seems to have discontinued that program, at least for now, that's disappointing.

Whoopee ! I did ~ 4 hours of filing and tossing and recycling and organizing in the filing cabinet today. I am very nearly finished. This was one of my challenges. Without this thread, I would probably never even have started on it, so thanks for the thread ! I did laundry and other things too, but the challenge work was good to get done !

I mentioned that I was reading the second book for the challenge and wasn't sure if I would love it or hate it, well, I love it, and I'm reading it quickly. It's called Wonder, by RJ Palacio, and although it's meant for younger readers it has a message that everyone can benefit from. I'm sure I'll be finished with it by my next report date, which is Sunday.

I forgot to post last night, so will do so now. I only worked on a few things this time but finished 3 of them. Technically I finished 4, but one wasn't even listed as a challenge. I was going to list putting together a bookcase and moving my books around as a challenge, but I completed that whole project in the last few days before I even listed it. I'm not sure why I'm working on things that weren't even on the list, but the idea is to get things done and I am, so I guess it works. I'm sure I'm avoiding the cleaning goal... Also, my dog was sick one night and when I'm stressed I tend to like having a project to throw myself into so I don't worry.
So I did finish my taxes, they are all ready in envelopes to mail. Yes, I still mail in paper tax forms which I know probably drives the IRS crazy but I am just not ready to go digital on those. I was considering it on my state form since I thought that I wouldn't have to pay anything, but they managed to sneak in a $3.00 fee that was not able to be wiped out by other credits, so since they made me pay $3.00 I'm sending it in with a paper return and a check for $3.00. I'm so pleased that this is done, this is the first time in a long time that I've been done so early. I'm getting back a small refund on my federal return too.
I also finished reorganizing my 3 desk top files, and I'm mostly done putting seeds into the fridge, I just have to go through my older ones and see if I want to try growing any of those this year, and if so, if they need stratification.
I did 2 days of old food, and I also finished the 2nd book for the challenge. "Wonder" was really good, unfortunately the point of making myself read these books is to then be able to get rid of them, but I'm keeping this one for now.

Scholar, I just love your chart!
I was supposed to report last night and forgot again. Once again I didn't do a lot, but I did work on my clothing goal. The original goal was to get clothing ready for winter, which didn't take as long as I thought, now my goal is to buy some new things I will need for summer. Also, I have a couple of scrub shirts and a pair of jeans that need altering. I spent an entire hour looking online and was very frustrated because I can't find what I want. I did order a couple of things and will see if they work, but I need to spend a lot more time looking.
So I did 60 minutes on clothes, 20 on office supplies and 20 on plant room cleaning. Plus 3 days of old food.
1. CLOTHING--get ready for winter, alter a couple of things Finished the 40 minutes remaining from last challenge so that goal is finished although I will have to continue it next time.
2. CLEANING--other than routine things GOAL 3 hours and 10 minutes remaining from last challenge
3. BASEMENT GOAL I did 40 minutes over my time goal and finished taking the cabinet apart. This project is finished!
4. FRIDGE CLEANING
5. PLANT ROOM CLEANING 40 minutes done
6. POST MORE BOOKS FOR TRADING 10 books posted out of a GOAL of 10 This project is finished!
7. READ BOOKS FROM MY OWN STASH 2 finished of a GOAL of 2 This project is finished!
8. PLANT CUTTINGS 1 "purple heart" plant done
9. ENCLOSED SPACES Five 1st floor kitchen drawers done, built in cupboard finished
10. OFFICE SUPPLIES & STATIONERY ORGANIZATION 1 hour 10 minutes done
11. REORGANIZE FOOD PANTRY 1 hour 10 minutes done This project is finished!
12. REORGANIZE BOOKSHELF IN HALLWAY 20 minutes done This project is finished!
13. ELIMINATE PILE IN HALLWAY 50 minutes done This project is finished!
14. ELIMINATE PILE IN PORCH ROOM - 20 minutes This project is finished!
15. GO THROUGH ONE BOX OF BOOKS IN STORAGE AREA 1 hour, 30 minutes done This project is finished!

20. REORGANIZE BACK PORCH BY ADDING SHELVING UNIT - 30 minutes to assemble the shelving unit. 1 hour plus done. This project is finished!

Hey everybody, there are only 3 days left to this challenge, how are you all doing?
I'm late reporting because I didn't do that much, I guess I'll wait until the 28th for a final tally. I obviously have things to carry over again, that's okay.
I have a couple of things planned for the next one but haven't thought too much about it--it will be seed planting time and that will definitely be one major goal.

Today, I have felt bad most of the day and slept some of it away. I'm on a new trial of BP meds to try to control it without crashing down too low. It is hard. There was a period of time in the afternoon when I felt less unwell. I fine tuned one drawer of folders in my bedroom filing cabinet, shredding some things in folders that were not needed anymore. Maybe about 45 minutes of time spent, I think.

1) Major purge and clear out of our master bathroom, master closet and some of our master bedroom. DONE by February 6th because the renovation started. Last thing was to move our big bed which was a monster and I'm still feeling the aftereffects of the strain to my shoulder. Everything (except the bed) was moved out. We did a fairly good sort and purge before storing and moving to the rooms we are using right now. Between garbage, recycling and donation - about 20 tall kitchen bags went out of the house. But my storage will be different moving back in so there will definitely be more to go. We also gave away all the bathroom fixtures that were salvageable as it was a full gut. We had a ton of water damage around the shower - we were very lucky that it didn't impact anywhere else. 2) Because we are moving into the guest room in the other side of the house - I have to clear out portions of that room (the closet) and the guest bathroom to make room for the things we will use daily. And, I will have to clear out portions of DM's old room in order to store all the stuff we don't need during the renovation but don't want to throw away either. Her room is on the side of the house with our room so it will be too dusty and dirty in that area to use. Everything is tented off. We have a big plastic sheet between the living room and that side of the house with a zipper. Cats are doing mostly OK with it all. Apparently SRF was visiting the contractors once or twice because it wasn't well secured but we soon fixed that! They have been using the outside door to our bedroom for entry and that is what I use on the weekends to do laundry when they aren't here.3) We are establishing a trust and we will have to do A LOT OF PAPERWORK regarding it as well as shutting down my DM's trust. Paperwork is done for starting our trust and closing DM's trust. Now we have to do all the follow up stuff which will trickle into the next challenge.4) Put away all the holiday decorations. I'm usually pretty organized with it. But it is a big job. This year I want to evaluate what didn't make it out and why - maybe some things can be donated? Donated a couple small boxes, a small tree and two heavy boxes of lights we won't use again. Everything fit into the designated space. There will be more to go when I take the stuff out this year. My emotions were still raw from losing DM so was struggling with everything that was a strong parent memory. I did give away to friends/family about 30 holiday items of DM's - ornaments, nativities, figurines, etc. So outside of #4 - the first three will still be continuing in some fashion since we won't be able to move into the bathroom/bedroom until after the floors are professionally cleaned and the closet is reinstalled - late March. Enjoy the last three days everyone! PC

I have been discombobulated the last couple of days. overdid it and haven't been well. and we had to turn off the water as apparently a pipe burst. So I may go to my folks for a couple of days.
I did get a big project done (organizing the toiletries to make room in the bathroom for Lady D's stuff) and met with a client, so those were big wins.

The month is almost over and I did not finish all my goals. I wish I had, but this month has been hard for me because of my BP problems which caused extra appointments and med changes which caused me to feel pretty bad at times.
However, I did finish reorganizing my DR desk, which had mostly been done before.
I did a small amount in kitchen cabinets, but need to do more.
I did ALL of the rest of the bedroom filing cabinet. Earlier today, I did the dreaded drawer which houses things my DD will need when I pass away, death certificates of my DH and my DD1, etc. I had to make one call relating to an insurance policy on myself that I took out years ago.
I have reorganized the top of my computer desk, but unfortunately have not yet reorganized and cleaned the shelves beneath it. And I also did not donate or toss clothing yet. I did not yet get things off the floor in the bedroom so I can use the Roomba. I think I have chosen too many goals each time I do these. I should choose less things to accomplish because I have many other things to do as well.
I am fairly pleased with what was done and will have to keep on trying to get the other things done. I am VERY pleased that the big filing cabinet and DR desk have been done. No real visual difference, but how nice to be able to instantly put my hands on whatever I need.
Hoping all of you hard workers also have made progress, whether or not you finished all of your goals. These challenge threads have helped me to get things done which were not done well before.
