☀️Good morning! I was not put on a jury yesterday, but I was in the running. It was interesting. There was one group that was put in the jury box, and a roughly equal number of us sat in the gallery. We were all sworn in. Two people were excused from the jury box; they were replaced by two people from the gallery. Then the attorneys each had half an hour to question the prospective jurors. I had always thought of this as a chance to reveal biases, but it was clear that the main thing was testing out the jurors' attitudes toward the arguments that each side was going to make. It almost felt as though they were doing introductions to their opening statements. Then the lawyers traded their proposed peremptory strikes, agreement was reached, and all but the final jurors were dismissed. After two nights of not enough sleep, it was wonderful to take a three-hour nap yesterday afternoon! Put out bin for collection. Started dishes soaking. PUPA 5 minutes. Get dressed. Declutter some things (not making a number goal this time). Do stretches. Post on a BIT thread.

This is exactly how it was for me when I had jury duty too! ☀️Good morning! I was not put on a jury yesterday, but I was in the running. It was interesting. It's the last day of February 2023!
I pop in here on occasion and then pop back out again rather quickly...
I'm having an extra hard time sticking to things right now; and recently I had a bad cold plus persistent neck pain. But I feel better and today I am at least somewhat motivated to pack for an expected move...
That's right, I am gearing up to PARE DOWN and PACK so I can move into a new place with my way less clutter-prone boyfriend. ❤️
He knows I am currently "very messy" but probably not the full extent of things...
That being said, when I have less stuff I am actually great at keeping a place super tidy. So now is the time to let go of stuff, even "perfectly good" stuff.
I have a few weeks so thankfully I have no "deadline paralysis" yet.
I do have a friend who has visited me at different places I've lived, and because he had a long-time roommate who was a "hoarder", I felt really comfortable letting him see my mess. Anyway, I'm hoping to have him over again as he's GREAT non-judgmental company as I organize. He helps with things, too, but mostly I want him to chat with me and keep me on track.
So we shall see!
TODAY'S WIT'S GOAL: To-do~ *Put together a few boxes *Start with packing up book shelf *Close box, label, set aside
I really hope I follow through today.
Wishing everyone all the best.
XO, oxen

Hi, oxen ! Howya doing? I did wonder how my tired brain was going to be able to follow the arguments, given that I'd been seriously considering finding a place to lie down when we'd been in the room with all the plastic chairs. Somebody got lucky not having me on the jury. That'll be great having your friend there! You probably know this, but this has the name "body-doubling." It's really helpful, as you know. Highly recommended for ADHD people but probably others, as well. Took out compostables and recycling. Brought back bin from collection. Washed dishes. Get dressed. Declutter some things (not making a number goal this time). Do stretches. Post on a BIT thread.
