 Yes, I was closing the gate and noticed an "official" county car. The man got out and said he was writing a citation for the weeds.  We got out there this morning and in about 1 hours time DH cut about 6 yard debris containers worth of weeds. The county employee said DH's extra cars were a problem as well and He needed to see for himself if they even run or not. I collected some aluminum so DH and I went to the scrap yard and we got $25.00 for that run. I'm going to load the rest of the metal out of the yard so we can just sell it back to the scrap yard. I am trying to reduce the amount going to the landfill and reducing tipping fees as well.

Good for you both for jumping on the weeds and scrap metal. Sounds like the kick start you needed though being fined is an expensive nuisance. Sorry.

Thanks so much for your kind replies. It was sprinkling on us ...that kept us cool. We will hit it again in the morning.  There is no fine yet we just have 10 days to have him come back out and check everything.  |

Bit of a bummer def6, but you and DH have sprung into action and will have the yard up to county bylaws in time to avoid the fine.  Your county official needs to drop in to my place if he wants to talk weeds!! You've got this!  |

Thank you so much for your kind words of support.  DH and I got out there again and pulled weeds and put them containers for the county to dump this Thursday. I also put scrap metal in the back of DH's truck to take to the recyclers. They gave him $35.00 for that old rusty stuff. Better to do it that way, than pay to place it in the landfill. Hopefully we can turn this "occurrence" around and benefit from it.  |

Back at it again today. Already pulled some weeds and will continue to clear out for places to be mowed. Metal goes in the bed DH's truck.  |

DH got the 2 cars moved and he will mow the weeds that were growing underneath.🥳

We put 13 large containers full of weeds out for pick up today and 1 large Garbage can full of yard trash. |

Cheering you on! You've done so much in so little time. Are the cars a hobby for DH or is the plan to fix them up and eventually sell them? We have a parking issue with vehicles here as well, and the 29' trailer doesn't help the matter, either!
