Good Saturday morning everyone!
Thanks for starting the thread, lennon!
The temp in the house has gone down to 69 degrees downstairs, and 66 degrees upstairs. It feels wonderful to me, but if it were to go down any further I would have to put the heat on for the birds. But, it's going to be 75 today and 78 tomorrow so it won't get any colder in here. If the current forecast holds next week there are two days in a row with highs of 68 and that means I'll have to put heat on then.
So, 3 nights ago I had the worst night with the dog ever--she was anxious all night, went out twice, at 10 and at 2, and after the second time out she acted weird, like she didn't even want to get back on the bed, she slept the rest of the night on the ottoman that is next to the bed. In the morning she didn't want to get up, but when she finally did, the rest of the day she was perfectly fine. Then that night and last night, she only had maybe a 10 minute panting session after going to bed in the evening, the rest of the night she slept fine, didn't have to go out, and she's been perfect ever since. As a result, I have had 2 nights now of 8 hours of sleep, still waking up frequently, but falling right back.
So, theoretically I should feel more rested today, but it's kind of unnerving because each night I have no idea what kind of night it will be.
I have lots on my to-do list for today, hoping for a productive weekend for all of us!
Diane

Good morning everypony! thanks for getting us started, lennon. I like that approach, oust. I was chilly this morning, Diane. it will get warmer, but I think we are done with the upper 80s.
Yesterday we got curtain rods. I need to order the rings. So grateful to have DVD's help with this project. Its been good for me to handle stuff on my own for the last couple of years, but its helpful to be able to divide and conquer.
I crashed yesterday. my warning symptoms are a bit more subtle, so its been easier to dismiss them. Until they aren't! I have five more days to finish the organizing part; Thursday the cleaners come and Friday we move. There might be a day when we need to go pick up a bedframe somewhere, so I should think of it as four more days. ACK!
DONE: made coffee plugged in the laptop updated log checked online balance--uh oh, there is a suspicious purchase. I need to check my receipt. checked email checked calendar took meds
NEXT UP: clean shelves decide on height install put dishes away do more dishes

Yesterday the fence lady came, walked the property while I puttered in the garage waiting for her to give me an idea what needs to be done next. Recently all the privacy fencing was replaced and parts of the split rail that were ending their lifespan near the privacy fence and that impacted the neighbors' yards. This time is for the further out fencing that is not too impactful. But I will feel better if the fence is solid for the coming winter.
I asked her to break the estimate into options ~ what posts absolutely need to be replaced, what she recommends after that and what is functional but simply cosmetic (bowed rails, etc.). Really nice girl, she will get back to me next week.
The handyman called and asked if he could come by a day early. He was here going on 2 hours. A lot of that was chatting, catching up with his life which was nice. His son is married now and doesn't work with him anymore. I was secretly glad to hear it, his son was not the best with detail work.
For his estimates I told him what I absolutely needed done first. Then things that would be helpful and third is maybe depending on price. Some work he said he would do for free since it is so simple (but not stuff I could do).
Having people here is stressful. The waiting for arrival, waiting for the work (or estimates) to be done and afterwards it feels like my energy has been drained. Very little else got done yesterday. Not being able to lay down to rest my back was not good. While the people were here I had to stand or sit on a very short stool or kneel on the ground. Today will be some topical creams to numb the bad areas and easy work. I would love to get together another load for donation tomorrow.

happy weekend! Hello Diane, lennon , mylittlescholar and TML and all to follow - hello danny15 we were posting at the same time Diane I hope your pup gets less anxious! I did not post since Tuesday or so. DD had talked to me, she was in a difficult moment, I ended up being up way too late and got on a bad sleep cycle for the week. work was ok this week, a short week, everyone seemed kind of subdued. I had a busy week, tried to preserve green space at my park (we officially lost ...), paid all my bills, did the trash and litter, recycling, and mostly kept up with the dishes, and cleaned bathroom sink and tub. I arrangedd for the exterminator to make a return trip sadly; new wasps or hornets were in the hive and puppy was stung twice. oh my heart. she was so sad. today I took the morning to binge on netflix. cool and rainy here. puppy is subdued today in her post-daycare mode. this lasts a bit but soon she'll be full throttle girlcat is doing amazing! she is 19.5 so slowed down but I really do think she has regained vision boycat is a snuggle bun today I have dinner plans so I want to use the next five hours wisely next: take a shower (so hard for me to do anything before this step!) send a scary email that I should have sent two YEARS ago and I now think about daily with a stomach ache for my foolishness go for quick trip to grocery store (I surveyed my dwindling stock but it still should be a mostly pet food trip) do the dishes to an empty sink mail two bills clean up dining room table from bill paying extravaganza walk puppy do a load of laundry vaccuum ok so off to the races!

Good morning danny, I'm the same way about people being over for whatever reason, it's exhausting. And having back pain at the same time just makes it worse.
Bree, I'm so glad your old kitty is doing better--I think this is what we have to deal with when we have the seniors, good days and bad days. Hopefully she has many, many good days still to come.
One more list and then I'll stop for lunch.
Next:
10 minutes on first floor 10 minutes refilling animal food containers Unpack giant box with my 15 inch plant pot Delete 10 hard emails

Hi everyone! I'm out volunteering both days this weekend so not long home. Unfortunately, I seem to have caught the bug that is going around at work. Typically great timing! Went to hunt up some of the minor medicines I bought for our vacation this summer, and have decided to organise them all into the drawer of medicines I decluttered and organised a few weeks back, rather than keeping them squirrelled away until they expire. Need to finish that off later - it nearly made me late this morning. Not sure how much of my to do list I'll get through, but anything I can manage is still progress, and I did not have to invite a fellow volunteer in so that made some things less urgent (original plan was she would get a lift to and from my house and I would drive into the city, but her husband drove her all the way this morning).
Done: Water plants in kitchen Wiped down kitchen worktops Empty bathroom trash Empty living room trash Cleaned up kitchen floor spill from foodbags Take backpack to spare room Went through three bags of medicines and similar
Optimistic weekend to do list: Finish putting medicines away Trim and water lilies in living room Replace air freshener in bathroom Wipe down bathroom surfaces Clean toilet Put laundry away Change towels bathroom Take upstairs laundry downstairs and run a load Find a place for electric toothbrush plug Dust bedroom and take duster downstairs Go through shoes and declutter odd shoes and anything that does not fit in shoe organisers Go through entryway unit and declutter old shoes and put air fresheners in proper basket

Hello reve! I hope you feel better.
Well, finally some good news to report about my shopping friend. The last time I talked to her she was in a lot of pain because the pain med she was on was making her feel very weird so she had been refusing it. While talking to me, she suddenly remembered that at the very beginning of the back pain, the ER doctor had prescribed a different pain med that was working well but then when she went to see her regular doctor, she refused to prescribe any more. Apparently, when she saw the facility doctor a few days ago she told her this, and this doctor prescribed it again. She says it has made a huge difference, her pain is so much less and in therapy they're surprised at how well she's doing. She sounded almost like her old self again, and we talked for almost half an hour--the difference was night and day.
I don't know how long they will let her take this med because it is an opioid and what she has is chronic--it will never go away. But hopefully if she can have enough pain relief to do the therapy and strengthen the muscles around her back she can heal some and eventually won't need it. It was so good to hear her feeling so much better, but from past experience I know she goes up and down so I will not get my hopes up that this is a permanent change.
Now I will finally eat lunch.
Diane
