Yes Diane, I thought of horror movies when the phone rang too. Last year I saw a good movie (if you like horror) with Ethan Hawke called *The Black Phone*. I didn't want to say hello (that's when the bad things happen ) so I just picked up to listen. For some reason horror movies are losing their appeal. I used to love Halloween too, going all out with decorations. Maybe the older I get the more scared I get. More likely it's the more time goes on the more graphic the horror stuff gets. A little jump scare is fun but the stuff in the movies now and the decor that gets put out is truly realistic. Actually, I haven't been in a movie theater since before Covid. There is enough on tv.
I did a 90% deep clean in the powder room. It needed it. I even cleaned every tiny square in the 9 milk crates that hold our water bottles. I would like the handyman to put on a new toilet seat when he starts to work and wanted things to be clean for him. Kind of sad that hoarders would like to clean something for the comfort of other people but not so much for our own benefit. Each time I get something really clean I swear I will keep it that way.
I got a few other areas put back together with small cleans. Made 10 gallons of water jugs which freed up a little space in the garage.
Had leftover meatloaf and mashed potatoes for lunch. Needed something hot. Although DD1 eats maybe 2 meals a day I generally only have one now and a couple small snacks. Never hungry anymore. Might not be such a good thing though. Too many people have asked me lately if I am ok. My clothes are hanging off me. All those small t-shirts I saved are good to have now.

Had a nice burst of activity in the afternoon - I wanted to work on clearing the piles of boxes and bags under the dining table, with a view towards clearing that area for Christmas since we are hosting this year. I worked hard on PEEPing, and I feel like I am starting to see the benefits of actual organisation and finding an organised place for things. I've said before how great the medicine drawer has been for clearing the littles piles and bags and boxes of medicines that seem to have been squirrelled away everywhere, and now I'm starting to get like that with other things. Hoping to do some work on organising our electronics soon and have bought some more baskets to help me sort things. So many cables!
Done: Set out clothes for tomorrow Made lunch for tomorrow Put away basket of medicines removed from bedside table in medicine drawer Sorted another bag of donations Sorted a bag of clothes that I'm just going to trash Sorted through a box of toiletries and medicines Sorted through a bag of miscellany Reorganised two baskets in the medicine drawer Toiletries and electronics taken upstairs
To do: Achieve dining table zero Achieve coffee table zero Water lilies

Hi reve, yes, it makes a big difference when you have designated places for everything and when you've been using them long enough to remember where they are!
Danny, that's funny that you didn't want to say hello! I used to love horror movies when I was younger but I was watching the fun ones from the 40s, all the original stuff. I never got into the slasher movies, they seemed kind of silly--although I have been reading some horror novels lately for the first time in a long time. I prefer ones with more subtle horror rather than monsters and aliens. But if I'm lucky enough to find a really scary one I do not read it at night...because then I suddenly hear all kinds of creaks and thumps that I never noticed before. While the dog sleeps blissfully on, I might add.
I'm eating dinner now and might try going to bed a little early. Although, with the dog's pattern lately I'm not sure why, I can't sleep until she settles down for the night. But at least I can get some extra reading in.
Good night everyone, see you tomorrow in the weekday thread!
Diane
