Yesterday DD1 and I checked out both storage units. It will take a lot of work but we can get them consolidated fairly easily.
My back gave out very quickly but DD1 kept pushing me along until I got very snappy and knew it was quitting time for working in the units. We still had to get rid of what we got out. For a little while she was sorting and I laid on bags of blankets. That kind of thing is kind of a smack in the face for me. I will head over to my blog to write out the feelings.
We took a large trash bag to book recycling at the dump. At one time I could not have done it. But these were all text books and very outdated reference books. Dumping was aided by the fact that I literally cannot handle this much stuff anymore.
Rather than wait and donate books to the animal thrift we stopped by a very large book dealer on the way home from the dump. They have 3 locations in this area and sell world wide. I got a small amount of cash for 2 large boxes of books. One box held kid and young adult books (DD1 was amazing about letting hers go!!!) and one box was adult with many classics. A third box I kept to donate to church. It was filled with Catholic books and they said they would like to have them for the church library. We only brought home 4 books as keepers ~ 1 for me, 3 for DD1. The book dealer would have given me store credit for 4x the amount of cash. I was SO tempted but declined.
We got 2 giant stuffed reindeer, and a lot of brand new bedding for donation to animal thrift. I want to get some more stuff from the house today and get it to them for tomorrow's donation times.

Good morning reve and danny!
Thanks for starting the thread, lennon!
Catcats, I think once you know about a parasite in the water you can't bring yourself to drink it--I always try to forget the fact that pretty much everything we ingest has something in it we would rather not eat--parasites, bacteria, insect parts, rodent droppings...but I know that once you KNOW it's there you can't forget it. Bottled water tastes very different from one brand to the next--there are many that I can't stand. My favorites are Crystal Geyser and Ice Mountain. Most of the rest have a flavor to them that I don't like--and if I don't like the taste of the water I don't drink enough of it.
I woke up late again, and the dog didn't want to go out until right before I was ready to leave for the library--fortunately she didn't linger out there so we got back inside fairly quickly. I went to the library, where I returned four and took out five...AND, totally forgot to pick up my plant cutting, so I'll have to go again Monday morning. Which is not the worst thing in the world, because there are several things I should get in the mail and I can work on them over the weekend and mail Monday.
The next five days will be in the lower 80s with no rain, so it will be warm. I hope that doesn't mean the mosquitoes come back, because now that October is almost here I really have to get things done in the yard.

Hi folks! Dany you are doing a great job! I'm so proud of you for getting all those books to somewhere that can get them to other excited readers, and I wish you all the best for getting more donations out tomorrow! I'm not long home from the thrift store myself. I bumped into a lady I know who was also donating things, including a lot of children's classics that were in the same series my Grandma used to buy for me. I exclaimed with such delight that she offered me them on the spot and I was very proud of myself for declining! I did buy one thing at the thrift store - a very cool blue/green iridescent jacket that, while too small for me, would be perfect to make into the basis of a Halloween costume. Still, 4 bags out, 1 item in isn't too bad!
Done: Trip to recycling centre Trip to thrift store Laundry from machine to dryer Load of laundry 2 Take clean laundry upstairs Bring laundry I forgot downstairs Errands - got petrol, got air in tyres, few things from the store that were missing from our delivery this week Inventoried freezer as I will be needing plenty of space for Christmas
To do: Laundry from machine to dryer 2 Load of laundry 3 if space allows Laundry from machine to dryer 3 Achieve coffee table zero Achieve dining table zero Put laundry away Meal plan and order groceries for the week

Good morning reve and scholar!
Good work on the donations reve! And danny, I think I know what book store chain you're talking about, we have them in this state too but not close enough for me to ever have been in one. I've known people who brought books to sell, though. You might as well get whatever you can for them, I think they resell what they can and donate the rest, so that's the best of both worlds. It sounds like you got a good start on the storage unit. When I did my big book purge starting the year before I moved, I finally got rid of my college textbooks. So, over 40 years old? Yeah, I think even in subjects that pertain to old things (I had some archeology and physical anthropology) they have discovered so much new that if I ever wanted to read them again I would be better off going to the library and getting a current book. It's still hard to get rid of them though, because of what they represent.
I need advice how to stop reading and get to bed on time
I hope you're not going to rely on me to give you that advice scholar!!
I called my decluttering client a little while ago, our talk today was longer than usual.
TO DO:
10 minutes on paper Make priority list for yard work Restock water in fridge Delete 10 hard emails

I watched my Netflix did more fetch
I have been so confused on dates this week -after the charity walk, I was going to go to an event in my town that was dog friendly and I was getting ready to go. I checked and realized it was last Saturday!!
I was going to go to a relative soccer game later this afternoon —-just checking time and it is next week!! so I had this whole day plan to be at the charity walk, the town event and the soccer game but I had the dates all wrong.
I’m sort of in a funk and I’ve got to snap out of it. I’m not sure why I’m in the funk
right now I’m going to sit down and pay all my bills this pay period.
Then nice long puppy walk.
I have good leftovers for dinner
I don’t think my brain is wired to not have DD here!!

Hi bree! You'd better check next week's calendar--maybe something on it is actually happening today! Sounds like you need a bit wall calendar, then you will see it every time you pass by. I often forget it's Saturday and then go to turn on my morning cable news show and then realize it's not on on weekends... Maybe there's something going on tomorrow where you can get your human contact for the weekend.
Let's see, what have I done since my last list--eat lunch, feed the dog. Oh, I looked at the Amazon site again for the hand truck my handyman recommended to see if they had the one that holds more weight, and they have it now! So I ordered it. I hope this will make things easier on my back, so that I don't hurt it in the same way my shopping friend did. And speaking of my shopping friend, we had a brief conversation today, she sounded a lot better, and said she's doing better in getting out of bed and into the wheelchair, and then getting out of the wheelchair to get back into bed or sit on the toilet. She still can't do it without someone there to help if needed, but it's a big improvement.
Next:
Start load of laundry See if the dog wants to go out Bring supply of hand soap down to basement storage Post in challenge thread
