Yesterday, forgot to mention that DH & I kept up with some of the dishes & the rest are soaking. Also, forgot to mention, earlier in the week, or did I? We got some things out of the Capsule (Pod) that’s still in our driveway &we are paying monthly rent for. All the waterbed furniture pieces. A couple months ago we ended up buying a regular mattress & have been sleeping on it on the floor. It is still not completely put together but DH thoroughly cleaned & reconstructed the framework & the headboard cabinet part. We also brought in the 6 drawers that go inside the frame under the mattress. Had to make a run to Home Depot for some replacement screws. The mattress fit perfectly & we will be tossing our old waterbed mattress. We loved the waterbed, but it is a lot more work to set it up & a lot more if we ever have to replace it again. So, we are happy with the mattress we bought & it is even more comfortable in the bed frame, etc. Our bedroom already looks beautiful, now, & will look even better with the headboard lighted cabinet & the drawers in it. Not sure if I told y’all the weekend before that… DH got the nightstands out of our bedroom closet & thoroughly cleaned them up. And he removed the clutter he had on top of the 2 piece high chest he has. And he thoroughly cleaned those 2 pieces then put them where they go. And, he connected all the lighting… the lights inside the dresser & cabinet piece & my lamp with Alexa. All verbally controlled, now. All looks beautiful! We’re so very gradually getting our house back in order. Fed Dog Gave her meds Water: ✅ Washed a small bowl I have today off. Yay! More later desposito so glad you finally got a good nights sleep! Cd

Cando, that's wonderful that you're getting things together in your house. And that you like your new bed enough to get rid of the water bed. Is there still a lot of stuff left in the storage pod?

cando - I'm glad you have the frame set back up. DH and I used to have a waterbed which was one of my favorite bed frames with floating nightstands - so pretty! Sleeping with cats killed the waterbed idea pretty quickly

Well I just met with the retirement people. For 18 months I worked part time at 50% During that time I was able to work a considerable amount of OT. So it ended up I was only PT for 6 months. If I retire in dec I will be about 6 months shy of 40 years. But I dont think I want to work another 6 months to reach that goal.
OK - I had better get back to work before they realize what is going on!

bree I am sorry to hear you are having family and work problems. It sounds like you are doing the best you can in a bad situation. I agree that relaxing and taking care of yourself today it a good option. HI Diane, I am practically working in ones as i feel so overwhelmed. I admit the pile of stuff I have to do is fairly OMG but it is more me and my lack of resilience right now that is the issue. I have been putting a note on my to do list of what it is that I am focused on next - just do that - rest - and then do something else. I admit that this is not the fastest way but the other way would result in me taking a long nap and calling it a day when i wake up. TwinkleToes great job on getting through your lists! cando - Thanksgiving sounded wonderful ohblondie that sounds like a lot of pots and pans. It is a good thing they had you there to help them with them. Would the 40 years give you any extra benefit in terms of your retirement or would it give you extra time to get your retirement in full order? mylittlescholar I hope Thanksgiving went really really well! I am just trudging along and trying to get things done today and over the weekend. I need to get my exercising and PT done today. I gave myself amnesty yesterday since it was a holiday.

TML, I am going to work slowly today too. I'm doing something then sitting down for a few minutes. I agree, better to work that way then to give up and not work at all.

I can only hope as my son cleans and empties out his room, my missing plates and spoons appear!! TML in the grand scheme of things it might make a difference of $100/month I will save that times 2 in gas and lunches We just decorated the christmas tree in our office. We have a little tree that we decorate seasonally (spring, Easter, patriotic, fall, halloween, Christmas). It just makes me want to go home and decorate OK - I must focus on my work.........

ohblondie so being retired saves you $100 a month. It does not make working there sound very appealing. I have a ways to go before I can retire. I am in retirement planning mode though. Trying to declutter, work on finances, work on life situation, work on house, and work on my health. Diane it looks like you are doing really well. I am still working along. I need to find something to put on in the background - I am thinking of have a hallmark movie on repeat or some yule log cat/dog Christmas songs. I need something that can play and not be tempting to sit down and watch. Then have a break movie that i can watch for my 10 minute breaks.

I've been watching Hallmark movies all day TML, it helps that the ones on today are ones I've seen before and liked, so I didn't have to sit and watch the screen.
I'm going to go downstairs early again tonight, good night everyone, see you tomorrow in the weekend thread!

bree--I am sorry that there is still some discord in your family; it certainly is not your fault, but hard to deal with, I know. And also upset in the workplace---ugh, I hope that all passes too. Enjoy your DD and hang in there; I know it's hard. cando, Good for you two ; your bedroom sounds very pretty now. I know you enjoyed your dear GS yesterday ! We ate and visited at my DGD's home and we all pitched in towards dinner. The baby was adorable; he is 15 months old now and just full of himself !!! Hope everyone enjoyed their day, no matter what it was that you did !! ohblondie, I hope all goes well with the retirement news. I remember--- After dinner, DD and I went to her home and watched 2 good movies. I had a hard time falling asleep. This morning, she drove me home and we stopped at McDonald's for a quick breakfast. She turned my outside water faucets off for me. It was a relief, not having to climb on a stepstool to reach that back one. I have unpacked my few things and done some laundry. Mocha gave me a gentle bite as a welcome home greeting. I hope you all enjoy your weekend !!! catcats
