Good morning!
Lennon, thanks for starting the weekend thread.
The handyman is coming Monday to start work on the bathroom, and normally right about now I would be very anxious about getting the house ready. There are many things I want to do before he comes, but decluttering is not one of them--such a good feeling. I need to get things out of the bathroom since he will be sawing the walk-in tub apart and I'm guessing that will cause dust, so I'm going to take things off the surfaces, I won't do that until tomorrow night, though.
I want to clean the chair that might be going upstairs, if we can get it there. I need to sweep the back porch and move the compost bin and storage bin that are near the door so he can work on patching the hole in the door frame. I have to make sure the thicker branches are in a pile so he can use his pruning saw to cut them in half. Check to see if I still have enough of the chicken wire fencing pieces so that he can make them into some circles for my branches.
So, it's mostly things like that.
I do have to clean the bathrooms, and I guess there's one decluttering job, putting things in order on the enclosed back porch since I have full and empty water bottles out there that need to be moved out of the way.
I slept badly again, maybe because of the upcoming work--if I'm going to sleep badly every time I'm a little stressed out about something I'll never get good sleep!
Today's high will be 60 ahead of 2 much colder days, so I will get the outside things done today.
Have a good weekend, everyone!
Diane

hi lennon and Diane Happy Saturday I am too busy to be here posting but I am hoping it will help settle my thoughts and help me get direction! We are leaving for biz trip/vacay tomorrow very early and I am so stressed. I have done so much and have so much to do yet! It has been a wild week - the unexpected dental work and the flood both took up some work time so I had to work a couple hours three nights this past week to make deadlines and so that cut into trip prep time. I am trying to tell myself that those were blessings, much better to have a broken tooth and a flood while home than while away. but I am just so deeply exhausted. the bailing of the water really has made all uneven and with muscle aches so I am moving sloooowly! yesterday I was working a half day as I had to head to college town to pick up DD in the afternoon. I had four things I had to get done for deadlines and one meeting to go to for one hour. So I got first deadline done, and then Chaos sends me an email asking me the plan on project W which she needs right away. I told her my plan and she said it had to move faster and asked me to do a bunch of secretarial work and to set up a huuuuuge meeting to be held during my biz trip. I was just so drained at that point!!! I said I was leaving at noon, could not get to it, offered her three ideas if she wanted to get it done and have big meeting next week. So...Chaos went along with my plan and set it up as I planned. I guess when she had to do it, it was no longer the big r ush it was for me. So phew! So I left and picked up DD, and then I had to come home and work on a deadline that I just could not get finished in the morning. Mostly done. Not perfect. I am def not making perfect the enemy of the good with this one! despite all the craziness, I have been chipping away at stuff - had key made for pet sitter, bought some new clothes, had pet sitter come over and go through every detail. got my work deadlines met. today is still an unformed mess of crazy in my mind though. so much to do. I will start with the easy: put new bulb in garage light wash dishes do laundry finish flood clean up clean up the hidden dried up vomit from poor girlcat who goes into the basement and finds a hidden corner to throw up -- when I removed the Christmas tree, I found some hidden spots. I am hoping my BIL can come and finish fixing my door which broke the week before. so much %&^ has happened in addition to just the craziness of trying to get away. my pet sitting decision ended up being kind of "easy" -- I was unable to board puppy due to the required pick up and drop off times and my flights, and they were booked for a longer stay. So she'll be home. The pet sitter spent a lot of time with her and saw how she behaves and I feel like it will be ok and it is also my only option! we were unexpectedly invited to a bday party tonight, I'd love to stop in but prob not possible

Why do I take Friday afternoons to list in detail what I want to accomplish Friday night? After a busy week, and a couple of 330am wake ups, I went home last night, cooked a frozen lean cuisine and fall asleep! I did manage to unload the dishwasher
To redeem myself, I have already been to my mom's. I have a load of laundry going, I emptied the dryer and I am avoiding a huge garage sale at the school ....that is taking so much energy. There are some people with money that donate nice things
So I am eating my oatmeal and planning my next steps. Looking around and not sure where to start!

I did remember to give Cali her flea and heartworm meds last night. And I remembered to take my own meds.....not flea or heartworm tho!
Ok. Oatmeal consumed, deciding on next step....

Trash collected from the bathroom Three bags emptied from the LR Stumbled over box of donations that I could have dropped off last night at school I will drop off somewhere More evidence of mice ...ugh.... Collected, counted and bagged up some returnable bottles. I write the count on the bag. It makes it easier when I turn them in. Once I get 5-6 bags I drop them off.
Taking a hydration break

ohblondie thanks for the reminder, puppy needs her meds too! So I have been chugging along in a rather chaotic overwhelmed way. did the dishes put the new light bulb in the garage ceiling light wrote long email to pet sitter asked my neighbors if I could give their phone numbers to pet sitter just in case did laundry which is in progress good news is that my vacuum did survive the flood so I have vac'd dining room vac'd stairs vac'd hallway vac'd kitchen vac'd living room vac'd entryway vac'd upholstery dusted wood furniture in living room dusted glass top tables next I have to move laundry along and being the gross gross clean up of flood remnants and hidden cat vomit. must also vac basement stairs as the sitter will need to go down there for litter. I am so tired! somehow this will all work out.... people without pets must have such easier as in cleaner lives! so much of the filth in my house is from them, and I have never been able to go on a trip in 30 years without having to clean up and get the house ready for a pet sitter. I am a whiner. I love them but they are so much work and worry and concern!! I hate to leave them so I think that is my underlying angst.

Good morning bree and ohblondie!
Wow, you two are busy already. I did some of the cleaning on the upper back porch, I still have a couple of things to do out there. I also wrestled the big dog bed back into the cover that only has the opening on one short side. I would almost feel bad donating that bed because whoever has to wash it will have a terrible time putting the cover back on.
Bree, it's funny you should mention pets and dirt--now when I vacuum, there's hardly anything in the collection cup, now that there's no dog hair to pick up.
I realized I didn't post in the challenges yesterday, I'll do that later today. Now I'm going to bring the dog bed and some miscellaneous items down to the basement, and start taking things out of the downstairs bathroom.

aw Diane, it is sad to have no pet hair.... So I spent the last hour cleaning up vomit and worse hidden around my basement. I should check at least weekly for it, really daily, but she hides it very well. Since I got rid of the big Christmas tree it uncovered five spots of uck. I also cleaned the litter. swept basement floor a bit to clean up flood mess I found a box down there and looked in and it had 25 items I could toss vac'd basement stairs. it was tricky. flood made the litter dust and any litter from the cats paws a sticky mess so my vac got clogged. I was able to unclog and once again perfect sure ain't the enemy of the good hear. poop, flood, cleaned up ok. not pristine. having a pet sitter is hard as they will be pretty much everywhere. I mean the litters are in the basement so they will be down in that dungeon. oh well. next my BIL should be here in a bit to try and fix my door that was damaged in teh windstorm two weeks ago. he did a partial repair but I had to order a part and he was on a buz trip. I hope he can fix as puppy is pretty good but a loose door is a temptation .. went over this many times with sitter. I am so tired! I need to get ready for my trip not be scooping vomit and cleaning up after a flood....more coffee now! hmm Irish coffee ? not yiet!

BIL came and fixed my door with new part!! So glad. Feel much better having a door that easily and securely latches.
So...I now transition to get ready for trip! I have dealt with flood, vomit, and door. I have some cleaning left to do but I need to focus on packing for now.
next shower plan trip outfits
kind of tricky for me. I have to have both workish outfits for conference and casual clothes for eves and our little bit of free time. I am not a big fashion person but I did try to buy some new stuff to put together some updated biz casual for conference!
ok off I go!

Hi everyone!
Thus far today, I worked on putting away dishes, putting more in the DW, emptied out luggage from a trip last week, now trying to get up the energy to work more on the very cluttered bedroom.

Hello CP! I hope you're working in the cluttered bedroom!
I seem to be doing everything partway. I partly uncluttered the back porch, partly emptied the bathroom (there are still some things I want to use in there until Monday), partly cleaned the upstairs bathroom. I vacuumed a couple of rooms downstairs.
This is the time I always get sleepy.
Before dinner I will wash the dishes that are remaining and finalize my handyman list/shopping list.

.TOOK my mom to visit my dad. partway through the visit she decided she wanted to go to the dollar store to get easter cards So we went to the dollar store and got cards and prune juice tomorrow she wants to combine a visit with a trip to Boskov's. We need to plan this carefully as we will likely need to eat s meal out.
I came home and started trying to sort through some stuff. I had a box of makeup and stuff. I usually do makeup and perfume downstairs but realized makeup was scattered between two bathrooms. So I need to figure out a better storage system/plan. So I am shelving that project for awhile.
DH and I went to chipotle to eat. Good but I am stuffed. We went to three grocery stores before we found a piece of corned beef to cook tomorrow. We did a very limited grocery shopping. Basically our meal tomorrow, bread, mayo and ketchup and creamer. And toilet paper!!!!
ok m- i rested, so now to put in another load of laundry.
