I cried the entire drive home. I might have sobbed a couple of times. I drove past the honor escort for those fallen soldiers. I am not exaggerating when I say every local fire depart/EMS department had a fire truck and ambulance in this escort. Those parents, those families, those moms....
Got my mom showered last night. She was really tired from our beyond busy weekend. She was quite slow and unsteady in her movements. I ran into a friend of hers in the hallway and we had a lovely chat. I got home and put some clean dishes away. I had that "ugh" feeling, semi queasy feeling. I am thinking it directly relates to what I eat/dont eat. I did not have any protein in my meal last night. I ate the leftovers from my corned beef dinner but it was the carrots and potatoes and onions. I will pay better attention to eating something healthier tonight.
I am starting the day off right with oatmeal and craisins and almonds. I have a salad with some egg salad for lunch.
OK - time to wrap up some projects

ohblondie (((hugs))) I am so sorry to hear about the fallen soldiers I have to watch what I eat else I feel sick. I am casien allergic and gluten intolerant. Also I am now pre-diabetic so I have to eat low carb. I just went on a pre-Easter candy off the rails. It was another one of those - I feel so bad that I will never ever do that again sort of regret. Eventually when I have enough of those I just finally leave it all alone (casien for ages and ages, gluten for a year and a half, carbs in progress).

Today my contractor is heading over to work on the electricity and I am up to my ears in Mom stuff. At least she is not sick that is all I can say. It is paperwork and logistics and etc…. I am trying to get things accomplished and I know I say this all the time - it seems endless just endless. But it did not get like this in a day and it will take more than a day to get it not like this. I am starting (just a tiny spark and glimmer) to see how people keep their houses up. It is far easier to spend a minute or two each day to put up, swish, swip, do dishes, look stuff over, sort a bit of paper in the moment when things are clear than it is to just let it go and go and go for years at a time and then look at mess and think how do i even begin. I am doing the keep up as well as cleaning out squares right now. Also I am keeping going with each time I am in a room I do a little something or two. Me: Outside to myself -> (yelling to the sky with frustration) Me: Outside to others -> (always working on stuff but no progress) Me Inside -> (maybe I am figuring stuff out - it is a tiny bit better each day)

TML we forget how important good food (or the right food) is for fueling our bodies. I got home last night and found three rather large packages on my front step. I used to like getting things but now they fill me with dread - I have to find homes for everything.... I opened them up and remembered the order was 24 sets of candles to bring to ALF for a craft project; and some baby outfits for my DD and my friend's DD. So nothing is staying! I bagged up the candles and they are ready to bring to the ALF. The baby outfits are in their respective bags. Whew...nothing is staying. two meetings after work - then maybe a quick trip to see my dad....

My friend works at Barnes and Noble, and a year or so ago, someone came in and bought $500 worth of funko pops. I’m sure it was for resale. A lot of sellers think these things are going to be a great investment. I think they’re going to be the next beanie babies.

And isn't it typical that I had never even heard of funkopops!!
Good afternoon everyone, day 2 of the handyman here and I'm totally exhausted. We went to the big box hardware store today and I spend a fortune on the supplies for the shower. We walked around there for an hour and a half finding everything, then I helped bring the lighter stuff in, and some heavy stuff using my shopping cart which had to be pulled up the stairs.
Then--the handyman tried to plug in a power tool in the bathroom outlet and it didn't work. I reminded him that about 6 months ago it tripped a circuit breaker, we turned it back on while he was here, then after he was gone it didn't work again the next time I tried to use it. I didn't look at the circuit breaker, I felt that if it was doing that for no reason something was wrong and I didn't need it that badly anyway. I know I mentioned it to him but it was a while ago and he forgot. So he went downstairs and looked at the circuit breaker box and nothing was tripped. Well, that made him very concerned, he said it might be a fire hazard, and asked if he should investigate--of course I said yes. He opened up some areas where the electrical boxes were and found deteriorating cloth wiring. So...yet another project, and another expense. He worked on that all the rest of the day today, and isn't even finished yet. Of course, part of that is because he's installing the ceiling fan, and moving the outlet in the kitchen that was on the same line as the bathroom outlet--the kitchen one had stopped working too.
So...more money. But I'm grateful that he's fixing the bad outlets, I'm terrified of fire and electricity so want everything to be current.
I had to go up and down stairs a lot today, he wanted to show me what he was doing and where things would be run. So between walking in the store and carrying things in and the stairs and the stress of finding more work to do, I'm ready for bed and it's only 4:30!
But I have to eat dinner and make quick (I hope) phone calls to my decluttering client and to my shopping friend to check in. I wasn't able to do any yard or plant/seedling work today, which is bad.
We will have one more shopping trip but that's not tomorrow so I will try to catch up on some things then.
Diane

I got about 10 minutes pulling weeds before the wasp came out and stung me on the forehead. Stung like heck i found peppermint oil and covered the area with that and took an allergy pill. At midnight i emptied a whole can of wasp spray at the area they are coming from, we'll see tomorrow if that does anything, I have to go get more spray for the net few days. So a little weeding done A few dishes done Picked up some food earlier Did a small amount of ironing.
Not much work this week, nothing until Friday then i have 4 days worth. We made a really good chicken curry last night but its made us overeat all day and it will be gone by tomorrow i think.
If i want to spend time outside i think i will have to drive to a local park because those wasps seem to have a very good memory of me and attack me when they see me now.

Happy Wednesday. Today is work from home. I thought I overslept and started working at 10 after the hour. I soon realized it was 7:10 and not 8:10..... So I got a good jump start on the day.
My 5pm and 6pm meetings went well last night. I even tossed in a load of laundry when i got home. I ate a semi healthy meal and felt better. I also watered my two remaining plants.
Back to work and a second cup of coffee

Hello oust ! How miserable to get a wasp sting. I do not like wasps either. Diane, great that electricity is being updated and made safer as your bathroom is being worked on. TML---You are working hard and smart too ! I went to a great Patient First this morning---Carolyn drove me--and x-rays showed only some minor arthritic changes in my right ankle. The Dr. said I could go see an ortho guy, but I don't see the point at this time. I think it is a bit better this day, and have a scrip for a few pain meds. I haven't taken any. Just limping along. Laundry going now; it had piled up. My best to everyone. catcats

Tossed a load of my pants in the wash Hung the load from last night changed my sheets. two years ago i bought my parents a new comforter. It was a full/queen size and came with a set of sheets. I always assumed the sheets were full size so I set them aside. I went to put them on a full size bed and realized they were queen. oh well, I left them on the bed. Ran to the store over lunch and grabbed a few things for dinner and lunch.
Trading my work from home days and headed into the office tomorrow

Good morning!
I took my melatonin last night and went to bed at 11:00. and laid awake for five hours. then got up and looked at the glowy thing for three more hours. which means its almost 1:00.
on the other hand, I do have some ideas for where to start today. My general idea is to get things "flat" and consolidate some projects so that I can make room to work on the attic with LD & 3, starting tomorrow.
DONE: took meds
emptied dish drainer washed flatware am caffeinating
I have an appt w/ my provider at 2:30. I was supposed to get lab work done. got lost in the ADHD med shortage! but I am going to ask her about a skin tag on my face.
ON DECK: what to wear? take a shower gather notes and pack boot laundry go to appt pick up kitty treats return call from CPAP co return call from De
PROJECTS: load table and chairs into RV drop them off at DPs
empty rolling cart into drawers I went through yesterday put art supplies on rolling cart
consolidate paper bins in the office
sort and consolidate three bins of DVD's photos and ephemera that got wet and moldy
clear items on attic stairs and consolidate packing supplies
