Good morning! Thanks for starting the thread, lennon!
It rained during the night and will continue to rain until a little later in the morning so the yard will be muddy today, but looking ahead to the 10 day forecast there is no temperature anywhere near a frost so I'm going to try planting a couple things this afternoon.
I had decent sleep so I should be able to get things done today.

After my last list I went outside for half an hour, there was a lot of rain last night and everything is quite muddy, so I didn't try to weed anything. I did move all the bricks that the handyman unearthed last week, I moved them to the lawn where I will spray them down with the hose and then move them off to the back somewhere. I also moved three bags of pine bark mulch away from the area where he'll be working tomorrow. After moving the bags and picking up the bricks, I had to pick up and move about a dozen earthworms that I guess crawled out of the sodden lawn and took shelter under things--I moved them to a corner of a garden plot where I won't be working for a while.
Then I got another call from my decluttering client, and a call from the roofing guy scheduling the roof repairs for a week from tomorrow.
Now it's time to think about lunch. And reading.

So I typed a long response and it disappeared. Oh well, here I go again
This past weekend we took bonus grand daughter to a museum. I wasnt sure if we would need one or two days to do the museum so we headed out friday night and came home sunday
We went to big box store friday night to get swimsuits but they didnt fit Saturday we spent most all day at the museum. It was hands on play the entire day We stopped at another big box store and got swimsuits worked out We then went swimming then grabbed a bite to eat than bed!
We hit the outlets on the way home and I got new underwear in a smaller size!!! Bought the child a sweatshirt and her mom a purse (birthday present). I exercised great control!
I had to really haul out my car to be able to take this trip, I had to have room for suitcases and a booster seat and stuff. I did a pretty decent job getting it empty.
This morning I started dealing with the boxes I brought inside on friday and other random stuff still in the car. I also dealt with several boxes in the kitchen. I have some pyrex to display so I packed it up very carefully until I get my shelves built and I can display it. I found a box containing a kitchen gadget that will be donated. I want to make sure it is clean and packed up nicely. I will have DH pack it up for me. I found a box of magazines that went straight into the recycling bin.
I have cooked dinner (sloppy joes) and it is in the fridge. DH can heat it up when he comes home. I took my mom to visit my dad this afternoon and tonight I will help her shower. I will put away clean clothes when I get home.
OK - time to go help my mom

Hello oust and ohblondie!
I had another very long call from my shopping friend this afternoon. I went out to the yard a couple of times for short visits, I didn't do much because the yard is still muddy--I did look around more and decide where to plant the first plants.
I also called the trash company and they are going to pick up the old, giant tv that was my sister's--the extremely heavy kind from many years ago. The timing works out perfectly, because trash has to go out tomorrow and the handyman will be here to help me get it outside.
I took plants outside for the afternoon to continue becoming acclimated. I think I will have to mow the grass tomorrow so probably won't have time to plant anything until Wednesday, though.
Good night everyone, see you some time tomorrow.

So it is Tuesday I guess. I am in very slow mo today
I emptied three bins in my glam room. I put up a rack and I am hanging all of my summer clothes. I am also folding summer shirts and sweaters and assigning them space on the shelves. As I empty a bin I am packing flannels, heavy sweaters and winter stuff away. I am hoping to create space to get the out of season stuff in the basement as well as reducing the number of bins
I am being better about the pile to go.. I am also finding stuff that got stuck there and has a better home elsewhere, like where it belongs!!

Hello, today was a long and tiring day with the handyman, but all my new garden plots are finished and ready for me to start planting. I don't know when that will happen, because tomorrow he's coming back at 7:30 again and we're going to shop, then when we get back he's going to put the protective aluminum caps on several windows. It involves his bringing one of those large aluminum folding machines, so I'm guessing it will take a while. Then he has a few minor indoor things to do, I really hope he will finish by tomorrow. There are two more projects but I would like to wait a little while, if his schedule permits.
I had a shock last night, one of my birds died. Although they really loved each other they would have these little squabbles where one wanted attention and the other didn't so one of them ended up flying/falling to a different perch. I heard a little squawk and the sound of one of them landing on the cage bars, and I was nearby so I looked. My younger bird was clinging to the bars just like they always do in this situation, so I didn't pay any attention. Maybe 45 minutes later it was time to close everything up and get ready for bed so I walked in the room and found him on the bottom of the cage, leaning against the side of it, looking like he was dying. I was just stunned and stared at him for several minutes, at which point he took a few deep breaths and died, right in front of me.
The only thing I can think of was that it was a heart problem or a stroke, because they were fine all day long. And this was the bird who is only 6-7, not the older one who is probably 10 years old or more.
Now I'm faced with a terrible dilemma--the surviving bird is the one that was so lonely when a prior bird died that I actually went to PetSmart and bought him a companion, even though it went against everything I believed in, because I realized that in trying to do the perfect "animal welfare" thing, I was depriving my very lonely bird of a companion. There were no shelters nearby that had birds for adoption, and it's even worse where I am now. But, I can't go and buy another baby bird because that would be like getting a kitten when your cat is 15 years old. Not to mention that the new bird would definitely outlive me, and that's what I'm trying to avoid.
So I'll have to figure out what to do, but now I have another busy day tomorrow. And it was hot today and will be hotter tomorrow. And I got three and a half hours of sleep last night.
I will check in tomorrow when the handyman goes home.

Diane - so sorry for your loss Sending small strokes to your other bird too. Maybe there is some kind of semi-local group that re-homes birds that have lost their owners for one reason or another. You might find a more age appropriate companion there. I know transportation is a problem on your side but maybe for a good home - they will be willing to travel to you.
