Good morning!
Happy weekend everyone, and thanks for starting the thread, lennon!
I've already spent an hour in the yard, it was cloudy and pleasant when I first went out, but then the sun came out so I was glad to come inside. Most of the time was spent on weeding, I did a little watering and a little tidying around the porch. There's a chance of rain starting in a few hours so before then I need to move a couple of things outside and clean out the seed pool. I really hope there's rain, everything is starting to look dry out there.
TO DO:
Call decluttering client Start dishes soaking Restock water in fridge Delete 10 hard emails

I went outside and covered the 2 buckets that have drying grass in them, so in case it does rain they don't get wet, I also closed the lid of the yard waste bin--it's been getting smelly if I keep it closed all the time. No sign of rain yet, the sun keeps going in out of the clouds but the radar doesn't show anything.
Next:
Start load of laundry 10 minutes on first floor Clean out seed pool Find putty and put some on picture on wall that is always crooked

After I ate dinner I went back down to the basement to retrieve my dry laundry, and while down there did 10 more minutes on basement sorting. I'm going to need a whole lot more time to get the basement organized, I didn't realize how many additional things were put down there. Some of it is construction type stuff from the house work, I'll have to see what I really want to keep, I probably won't have a use for a lot of it again.
We did end up getting some rain, not a lot, but more than just a short drizzle, so that's good.
Time to get ready for bed--good night, see you in the morning!

Good morning!
Hello to Catcats, I saw your post on the other weekend thread!
I had good sleep last night, maybe because it got a lot cooler in the evening. I went out this morning and did my hour of gardening--it still felt so nice and cool. I planted 2 zinnias but the rest of the time was spent weeding. I looked in the back and I see I have one coneflower bloom--the first one, as these plants were planted last spring. Coneflowers were the first pollinator plants I saw in my old neighborhood, and I didn't like them because of the smell. So I avoided buying any the first couple of years here, but they seem to be such a staple in pollinator gardens that I felt I had to put some in--they are loved by all pollinators.
So, the area of the garden that I had the most hope for is really not doing well. I planted 2 false sunflower and a Mexican sunflower there, also salvia--both the ones I recognize, and those weirdly different ones from the same collection of seed. The only things growing well are the old variety of salvia, they have some flowers already. The weird salvia are not really growing--they are still just about 6-8 inches high, they look kind of raggedy (not just the one that was out during the hail storm, but the others too) and there's no sign of any kind of bud. The false sunflowers have grown some, but not much--each plant has one tiny flower on it. And the Mexican sunflower has kind of stopped growing--probably because the squirrels have eaten the few flowers that formed! If all of those were growing normally they would fill the area, but maybe I should add something else so it's not so sparse.
Elsewhere I have a Shasta daisy plant that is growing well but no flowers yet, although the one at the library is in full bloom right now. At least the forking larkspur is starting to bloom, it's one of my favorites.
Today I want to finish the mosquito dunk buckets and put them out.

I called my decluttering client, and now I'm spending the morning working on little annoying projects that are sitting on my desks and tables. Little procrastinated things that need something done to them before I can put them away and declare the surface clear.

I just finished the mosquito dunk buckets! I made 2 of them, covered them with netting so hopefully no larger insects go in, and I put a stick through the netting in case someone does land in there, it will be able to crawl out. Now, hopefully they won't smell too bad...
I'm stopping for lunch now.
