Hi. I *finally* found chat.... However I can't "get in" . When I click on the link to "chat" or the "chat icon" at the top of the page it acts like it's loading..... says something about transferring data.... and locks up my browser. I have firefox (which i am using because IE won't work 99% of the time for me, go figure). It doesn't say "hey stupid -- down load this" or anything else obvious, just locks up. any suggestions?

Can you try IE for just this? I use Firefox, and after freezing my browser trying to access chat, I tried IE7 for it and it worked.

Hi there Fly!
Do you have "active x" enabled on your browser (if you have IE)? that will allow the Java or Javascript or whatever thingy to allow the chat to load.
Do you have the most recent version of Java? That's another thing you could check.
Hope to see you in chat, Lioness

- I sometimes go to 12-Step meetings in these chatrooms: www.stepchat.comThey have a thingy there for testing for if you have the right version of Java to get into their chatrooms. I realize that the Proboards chatrooms have DIFFERENT format than the Stepchat chatrooms, but their java test would theoretically be similar. Their java chat test thingy is here: stepchat.com/javasupport/Try it. It might help people who cannot seem to load the chat. Lioness

AH, I have IE. We're on Shaw Cable in Canada.
I keep getting a "Error connecting to server. Please try again in a few minutes" message.
