Good morning Rosebud and everyone, Went to bed very late last night as surfing on net and woke very early this morning. Today an electrician is coming to move a socket and this feels like a big thing.
Done: up prayer and refection dealt with emails
Todo: email brother out to buy bread it is hard to do anything else as table and surfaces are all covered with books and files from bookcases which I have needed to empty to move them so the electrician can move the socket. write journal - I didn't write anything yesterday

Good morning Rosebud & rexroth & all others who join in today!
My uncle is coming for a visit for the first time in 6 months today, so I've been doing whatever I can to make the place halfway presentable.
TaDas:
* Moved a bunch of junk out of the bedroom he'll be sleeping in * Washed & dried sheets for his bed (That bed had been unmade & the linens rumpled since my mom left from staying up here for awhile on March 24th.) * Made up the bed * Washed the bedspread, currently drying it * Fought with my DSL connection for about an hour - it has been quite unstable lately. It may have been over an hour that I was offline. I have to log in to work soon and thought I was going to have to call in, but finally managed to get connected again and here I am!
Have a good day, everybody!
More TaDas:
* Brushed my teeth * Fixed a snack * Took meds * Ate snack * Worked today's shift - actually managed to stay connected to Internet the whole time...who knew I'd ever consider that a TaDa?! !
Rosebud, I didn't know where to post this on the forum but thought maybe you might see it here (hopefully). I sent you a PM.
* I layed down for what was supposed to be only a 'little bit' after working this morning - yeah right! I awoke a little before noon, which is when my uncle usually shows up...anytime between noon & 1:30 pm. So I went into 'crisis cleaning' mode.
* Started the dryer again & let it run for a bit to get any wrinkles out of the bedspread that had set in from my leaving it in there earlier. * Cleaned the sink in his bathroom - I had no idea if I'd have time to finish or not before he showed up. I just pushed on and got it finished! * Dumped, disinfected, and put fresh litter in the cat box. Very important! * Did a quick sweep of the kitchen where there were visible crumbs in the floor. I didn't even try to go for perfect! Just get the crumbs that were most visible. * Got the bedspread out of the dryer & made up his bed. * Hurriedly ran the vaccuum through his bedroom - that hadn't been done either since my mom left from her temporary stay up here on March 24th. * Rinsed the dishes in the sink. * Straightened up my own rumbled sheets on *my* bed and tidied up my room a little, as it's directly across the hall from his bedroom. I usually keep the door halfway open so the cats can come and go as they please, so you can't see all the way in...but still. * Fed & watered the cats. * Then my Mom showed up, so I visited with her for a bit. She came here to meet him to discuss various business matters. * And then he showed up...I think around 1:20? And we visited right up until a few minutes ago and then Mom left and he brought his bags in and then he left to go check out his ranch.
Whew!
* Took another short nap this afternoon * Was not letting myself sleep too heavily because I had the front door open waiting for the UPS guy to drop off a package - my Dad's vitamins. It was super-important that they not be left out in this heat we're having or they could melt. Which could cause Dad to have a meltdown of his own - one of the vitamins he takes is some sort of 'Mental Acuity' formula that he swears by. He gets pretty out of sorts when he doesn't have it!
Anyhow, the UPS guy never showed up but there was a knock on the door so I go out there and it was the AC repairman. My mom had called him and left a message that she needed him to look at the AC and see if it was fixable or if it needed replacing after the recent severe hail storms we had in May. So anyway, he just decided to 'swing by' since he was in the area & of course I had no idea what he was supposed to be here for (all of the above), so thus ensued a series of phone calls to Mom to figure what the heck was going on.
Mom was irritated that he didn't call to let her know he was coming because obviously she wanted to be here to meet him herself, but whatever. We finally got it taken care of, and the good news is that he was able to fix the AC so that it won't need replacing!
What else?
* Mom called again & somehow Dad had picked up the vitamins from somewhere. So was nice not to have to hang out waiting for the UPS guy to come any longer. * Got dinner * Ate dinner * Threw dinner trash away * Washed my hands real good with soap and hot water & unloaded the dishwasher. Another OCD triumph! I really felt contaminated, but if I didn't do it...my uncle wouldn't be able to find any clean silverware to eat with so I had to force myself to do it. * Put dirty dishes that I'd rinsed earlier today in the dishwasher. * Scoured the sink with Barkeeper's Friend - it wasn't really too dirty, but my uncle will use the same cereal bowl and spoon for his entire stay here - that is just the way he is - so I wanted the sink to be disinfected for him.
And I think that's about it!

Done: emptied bookcases and moved one - I really need help to move the other but being male I shall do it myself and ask for sympathy from you all when/if I hurt myself Rexroth Rexroth, this sounds like me & I'm not even male. But how about getting the help of a tool such as a dolly or hand-truck? That way you're still doing it yourself, but more safely.

Yesterday granddaughter & I arrived at the swimming pool 2 minutes before closing and she was so disappointed she didn't even want ice cream. Today we plan to go to the pool earlier so she can swim. So that is a priority on the To Do list today. I have had several walk-ins for server positions at the restaurant lately, but no responses as yet for the Head Chef position. Time is of the essence on that one, however, so I've got to work on finding a chef this morning. Not an easy task while running the cash register with paying customers. Today is going to be a busy day at the restaurant, too as we have several large-party reservations. It'll be so much better when Hubby can come back. Right now I am carrying the burden because son & DIL are so resentful of him that we (me, & Hubby agrees) decided he best stay away until their departure. The plan to have granddaughter in Day Care during the summer was abandoned by son & DIL last week and that is going to make the next 10 days more complicated, too. Thankfully, this will all be resolved soon, I believe. eagle's Thursday
- morning wake-up routine
- made pot of coffee
- went to restaurant to get a few things done
- temporarily re-affixed light-switch cord to shelf (will ask Hubby to perform a more permanent fix ~ my hand strength turning a screwdriver leaves something to be desired)
- laundry: hung delicates to dry
- put away clean dishes
- laundry: one load from dryer done & put away
- another load of laundry washed & in dryer
- physical exercise: 75 minutes
- responded to email re: classified ad (made it smaller)
- got network printer working again & printed some things
- put steno pad & yellow pads in car for later transport
- started breakfast cooking
- shower, dressed, etc.
- worked until 2pm, then to the pool with granddaughter
- mopped floors in master suite
- set up 'Slip & Slide' for granddaughter
- cleaned whirlpool tub
- confirmed running ad in newspaper
- started another load of laundry in the evening
- cooked dinner (Arroz con pollo for the men, veggie stuffed bell peppers for me, mac & cheese for granddaughter)
-
-
To Do pay bills sort through some paperwork

Hi everyone,
Eagle I took all the shelves out and was able to move the bookcase without too much problem. The electrician came and can't do the work now but will do it in a weeks time. This leaves me with a mess for a week. I'm now going out maybe to look at some shops and to sit in the park before a meeting with my landlords at their place in an hour or so time. I feel confused and muddled at the moment.

Wow! Everyone got so much done!
Rose--You truly have been doing amazing things!
Tadas: *made my bed *took DD to Summer Band Part I *got 3 bags & a pile of papers ready to take with me.--hoping I'll see if I need to pay any bills & need to go thru all this stuff... *took DS to eye doctor... had to pay with credit card because I forgot to get a new checkbook out... Argghh! Was told that I couldn't take the contacts for DS until I paid for them. What the??? I've been coming there for years & they won't take my word that I would mail them a check. I know she could have checked with the Dr. & it would have been alright with him...but I just wasn't in the mood... Just felt like I was asking for a hand-out or something & I was already embarrassed enuf as it was. Far away, so didn't want to have to come back for contacts...so wimpy me paid it with credit card. Really odd for me, cause usually I will make a scene or something or demand they talk to the doctor...I hate doing that but have done it plenty in the past... *picked up DD from Summer Band. *took her home *took DS to DH's office so he could do some work...I decided to stay there & go thru the papers & bags there. It took forever & didn't quite finish...almost though. Ended up with a overly stuffed grocery store sized plastic bag full of recyclable papers. Some stuff was just tossed in the trash. Have some stuff in another grocery bag that will have to be shred. Have bag of papers that need to be filed. Got out all bills & important stuff & put in Office in a BAg & wrote list of important things I must do in the next few days. *over dinner filled out 2 forms that DH needed to fill out & got him to answer the questions for me. *also found out what to do with 2 more types of mail that DH gets regularaly... So, quantity of mail should be reduced a little soon. *this morning, got Beef Stew going in Crock Pot...new recipe.
That's about all that happened yesterday... CD
