Hi All! Well... the beginning of a *new world* we are creating here! How exciting! My husband and I have been together for about 14 1/2 years and have a 13 year old son, 3 cats and a dog. Part of my problem is having learned/inherited hoarding tendencies from my parents. We have also moved from a huge house originally, down in size several times, over the years. So, what was not too much stuff in the first house, is far too much now! Plus... as you do... we've accumulated more along the way. At the moment, our house is pretty tidy... mostly because I have left most of our stuff packed in boxes, in the shed, since our last move a few months ago. This house is quite small, so it would just be hopeless to have much unpacked. And the place still gets messy with what we do have unpacked... and I get overwhelmed... and it gets messier... and on it goes, until something either forces me or motivates me to get it back in order. A big part of my wishes from this forum is to find motivation and encouragement to sort and get rid of a large quantity of our stuff. If we haven't needed it in several months... or some of it for years, as it's been packed from 3 or 4 moves ago... then how worthwhile is it for me to keep it??!! As well as help to maintain a reasonable standard in our house. I absolutely hate *doorbell terror* and not feeling confident in inviting anyone to our house. Anyway... onward and upward... because I never want to be down in the cluttery depths I have been, or where my parents constantly live. Oh... I want to become a millionaire too. I'll let you all know when that happens.

hi Mystic Pegasus; Is that you, pegasus? I know you mostly from WITs; hi! chuckle; "doorbell terror'; oh how I can relate! And wanting to be a millionaire! We'd better get busy so we can answer our doors with pride when Ed McMahon comes to our doors with our winning publishers clearing house millions (is ed mc mahon still with us?)

No... I'm Mystic Pegasus... who was Mystic Pegasus. Pegasus came along later I think and used a similar name. She may have posted more than me- not sure- and I didn't post in WIT's... so you may not be as familiar with me- though I recognise your name. I'm not sure if Ed is still alive... but he'd have a way to come for me, as I'm in the Great Land Downunder. But I will become a millionaire... then maybe I can either abolish doorbells in my vicinity, or create a special room that looks like a fancy magazine article house room, that we never actually use, and have the outside door (with suitably fancy, high class doorbell) open onto this. As long as people never have to go beyond this point, then maybe I can overcome the doorbell terror! Then again, with lots of money I can have servants cater to my every whim and clean up after every little careless mess I choose to leave behind. .

Hi. to further clarify about the similar usernames: (these dates may be off by one day, depending on which time zone you live in) -- According to the membership records over at Squalor Survivors: Mystic Pegasus joined Squalor Survivors on 26 February 2008. (spelled there with Uppercase (capital) "M" and "P".) pegasus joined Squalor Survivors on 5 April 2008. (beginning with a small (lowercase) "p".) She usually posted in Working in Threes. There is now -- here at One Step at out of Squalor (the forum you are reading right now) ... a member named " pegasus48". I believe she is the same person as "just plain" pegasus on Squalor Survivors. At Squalor Survivors we have had quite a few mythical animals as user names. There were several dragons (disorganized_dragon, dragonlady, RedheadDragynLady); a couple of gryphon/griffins; Phfoenix, PhoenixRising, and several other wonderful and amazing creatures. And there are/were dozens of us with non-mythical feline names (cats, tigers, lions, etc.) To me, this demonstrates that even though we all have different struggles, we sometimes identify with similar archetypes. I really think it's okay to have similar names. Our distinctiveness comes out in our posts.

Oh dear, I seem to have created a name muddle. I didn't know there was a Mystic Pegasus when I signed up as pegasus at SS. When we moved over here, I changed to pegasus48 to make it more distinctive from Mystic Pegasus. Anyway, hope all is clear now.

I'm sure it's not a problem at all. It certainly doesn't worry me. The more "Pegasi", the merrier.

I'd say it's just any name... there's always going to be people with similar/the same names. And it's okay! The best way to separate yourself is to make a signature block... that way, people can identify you by that. My handle is RedheadDragynLady, but I usually just go by Heather. Or Red... I do answer to that!
