Jumping in!
I have a TON of stuff I want to get accomplished. I'm not sure how much I will actually get done but I will post my progress as I get things done.
My first goal is to get to bed in a few minutes so I can wake up bright and early and get started with the sunrise.
See whoever joins in first thing in the morning!!!!

Good morning, Rosebud and troubledmom! I am up ridiculously early thanks to jet-lag and a migraine, but I have taken my pills and perused the internet, and I am going to face the day now. Here's what I have to do today: 1- Go grocery shopping for the week. 2- Pay my MasterCard bill. 3- Go to Sunday Meeting. This is part of my new list of resolutions/things I want to do in the next few years. I really liked Meeting (Quaker, for those of you who are wondering), and I want to start going back as regularly as I can. 4- Do my Weekly Home Blessing Hour. It's Sunday, which is my chosen day to do that. Here's my cleaning list for that: - Do Kelly's Zone Mission for the day. This week is Zone 1. No idea what the mission is, yet, or even if there is one on Sundays. If there isn't, I'll make one up.
- Dust
- Vacuum all rooms
- Mop the bathroom
- Run the Scooba in the dining room & kitchen
- Clean the glass in the doors & bathroom mirrors
- Purge papers (into the recycling bin they go!)
- Empty & clean out the cat pans (soon to be obsolete, as we transition to the Cat Genie!)
- Empty all the trash cans & take trash to curb
- Change the sheets on the bed
5- Do a few loads of laundry, since I have no clean clothes left after my trip. 6- Do a bit of tidying in the kitchen. 7- Do my cooking for the week. There will be a whole lot of timer-usage today, I can tell. ~Mouse

Hi y'all.
TM--So very nice to see you. It has been so long... I really missed your listzillas.
I have lots to do today.
Will not list the todos though as it will become overwhelming...
Will update this post throughout the day.
Glad y'all are here.
Rose---- Just the thought of LiveJournal is overwhelming to me & I had wanted to read some posts or blogs from folks from the old website... I went to LiveJournal & then couldn't find it & would have to search my emails for my password, etc. as I forgot what I did... Anyway...I think I'm just going to stay here & not try to figure it out as it is too time-consuming & this seems a great place to me... Even though there are no blogs, I'm wondering if one of the other forums here could kinda be made into a blog one. Like instead of the tips forum...similar to the Introductory forum...
Tadas: 12:50pm *made my bed *showered *emptied kitchen trash, sprayed can &replaced bag *emptied back bathroom trash (was overflowing...) *washed 2 sinkfuls of dishes & cleaned the crockpot
Irritated with daughter & husband, son & self...
1:37pm *finally ate breakfast *finished blow-drying my hair *took 4 bags of trash to outside can *took 2 bags of recyclables to outisde can

Morning everybody! Today is pretty much going to be work, work, and more work for me. TaDas: * Got up * Made & drank coffee * Got Diet Dr. Pepper * Got Kitty her dollop of salmon - will check dry food & water later, I believe they're OK, for now. * Logged in to work * Took meds * Ate snack * Drank a glass of water * Finished working today's shift * Fed & watered cats * Got Kitty another dollop of salmon - I'm going to try to start tracking this - don't want her getting too fat on me! (Seriously.) * Called mom * Got lunch * Ate lunch * Threw lunch trash away * Made my bed - I thought this was a great metaphor for the phrase, "Better, not perfect." Simba was perched on the very end of the bed - very comfortable, not wanting to move. So I just 'made the bed' around her, and left it. This pic is kinda fuzzy, but maybe you get the idea : Hope to get caught up with at least part of the goings' on around here at some point. Last night, I was really wishing I had a new blog - private, non-Googleable, but easily accessible to my friends. It seems some people really like LiveJournal, but I don't particularly care for it. Maybe I just haven't worked with it enough? But it just seems so complicated? And ad-heavy! I don't wanna have to pay just to have a simple blog! And what if my friends don't like LiveJournal? They would have to 'friend' me to be able to read my entries (so I could keep it private), and I don't want people to have to go to all that trouble. I just want a place where I can blog about what's up with me...I can put a link in my sig, and if anybody gives a ^@, they can go read it. Ah well. We'll see. The Internet is a big, big place so maybe I can find something at some point. Sorry for the rant, y'all! I hope everybody has a wonderful day....whatever that entails for you. Love, Rose

Actually, they'd have to join LJ, and then you'd have to friend them -- for them to be able to read your LiveJournal blog (if you lock each and every blog entry as friends-only). If they friended you, that would be them inviting you to read their blog. But yeah, LiveJournal is complicated when we have privacy issues. Click one wrong keystroke, and you've published a google-able blog entry. You really have to be mindful with privacy settings, every single time you actually push the button to post an entry. [if I explained it wrong, somebody PM me.] -

We've been busy in spurts this morning at work, so while I'm waiting for work, I've been Googling 'free private password-protected blog'. It seems there's some sort of code that can be inserted into a WordPress blog to prompt visitors for a password. Maybe that might not be too hard to set up. Then all I'd have to do is put the blog link & password in my sig. We'll see.

After a few days of marathon work on tax papers I have granted myself some "time off". Let dishes pile up. Slept a lot. Spent a few hours today outside, cutting, watering, weeding, enjoying.
Now it looks like the weather will change - after weeks and months of sunshine.
Good to see you all, especially you, TroubledMom, I remember well how you used to post about your "small child", and the fancy decorations!
It is 06:30 pm already, and apart from the above maybe (just maybe) I will do something with the dishes a little later, maybe check on laundry, maybe tidy up just a little bit, and I might even order an airplane ticket to get away from home a bit and go and see DS.
We'll se how the rest of today goes. Daylight almost till midnight here, this time of the year.
See you later!

Okay, there has been progress!
So far today I have:
- Vacuumed - Swished & Swiped the bathroom - Gone to Meeting - Bought a tool kit at Canadian Tire - Paid off my MasterCard bill. So far I've had this card for six months and have paid it off in full and on time every single time. I am very pleased with myself, since finances have always been problematic for me.
The next big thing on my list is my meal planning and grocery shopping for the week. I must vanquish the inertia that threatens to nail me to the nearest horizontal surface, and go back out, once I've figured out what I want to eat this week.

Rose---- Just the thought of LiveJournal is overwhelming to me...I agree. After I'd posted that, I later regretted it and wanted to delete it but y'all have already responded (which is totally understandable and OK! !), so guess I'll just leave my post as it is. I do hope I didn't offend anyone who is using LiveJournal. I actually went over there while I ate my lunch, and some former SS members are still actively blogging there. I just want to apologize if any of those people read what I wrote and felt offended. I really didn't mean to offend anyone. I just don't think LiveJournal is right for me. I enjoyed blogging for the short time I did it. It felt like my semi-private place apart from the forum that anybody was invited to come visit but not so many people did since it wasn't part of the main forum. Maybe I will try something different other than blogging now - expand my horizons...or something.
Irritated with daughter & husband, son & self...Whatever your irritation stems from, try to go easy on yourself, dear CD! I believe you're doing the best you can. And if you're not...well, try to focus on the 'now'. Today and what comes after today. One day at a time... TM, it is so good to see you again! I figured maybe you were active on other forums when I didn't see you on SS after awhile - anyway, no matter where you were before...it's good to see you here! You're really gettin' a lot done today! Hope your day is proceeding as well as it can be, dear Lioness!
...We'll se how the rest of today goes. Daylight almost till midnight here, this time of the year...
Wow! I did not realize that - if my memory serves me correctly, it's like that in Alaska too??? I am thinking of the phrase "the land of the midnight sun". Wow. I cannot imagine what it would be like for it to be midnight but still daylight outside! That is just fascinating...brings up all sorts of questions about what life is like in that environment - that's just fascinating to me! (I just reread this before posting it, and I know I sound like a total DORK here...I'm serious, though. Daylight at midnight - that is just really interesting to me!) ...I must vanquish the inertia that threatens to nail me to the nearest horizontal surface...
~Mouse I loved that! Go get 'em, girl!

I am missing Script and her lovely lists of goals and triumphs. I have work squalor, paper squalor, relationship squalor, some hidden house squalor and body squalor. I want every thing to be perfect and I want everything to be easy. I have just true to form almost completely wasted 2 days of a 3 day weekend. I have to mark some (a lot of) papers and start writing some report cards. I would also like to look after my dog, my body and have some positive interactions with family and friends. I need to do my tax.... and I am feeling overwhelmed as I write this. Goal: 50 items related to work, self and family. 1. coffee 2. read LJ and here 3. loaded dishwasher back 11 am. Not sure how to get colours and a bold font. 4. Visited elderly mother who has taken to her bed and is being a martyr. Phoned brother and left a message regarding this. 5. Ate breakfast 6. Picked up Poo 7. Did school work for 1 Hour

Thanks for starting the thread and big way to go everyone! Today I took friend and youngest DD with me and: went to dept store to pick up few things for my mother; went to visit my mother in nursing home (60 miles from home) and take her the things; took her out to lunch; went to her home (that DH and I bought and maintain and stay at occasionally) where we checked on things and I picked up something DH left there unintentionally our last visit.
Took Mom back to nursing home, came home and dropped off friend; turned around and took DD to church for youth group; checked online groups and email.
Tonight, Still have to: Wash, dry, and fold two loads of towels; pick up DD from church; go in garage and work on Pile O' Stuff for 15 - 30 min, make sure all important upcoming events are on kitchen calendar and my personal calendar, go online to register youngest DD for camp (if she decided she REALLY wants to go!), write to-do list for work and home for this week.
UPDATE: Spent 30 min on Pile O'Stuff in garage and filled trash bag; washed one load towels and dried another, second load in washer now; sat with family and wrote out dates of events for next two months; registered younger DD for camp online; put reminders of two tasks for tomorrow on my cell phone calendar with alarm. hope everyone is having a good day! Joy in Virginia
