I have committed to moving. I don't have a place secured yet, and I haven't given notice at my apartment (will have to do that June 30th), but my deadline really is August! I have to get DD registered at her new school, and one must have an address for that.
I am feeling quite overwhelmed at the prospect, but instead of sitting here wringing my hands, I figured starting a list would be a weensy bit more productive, so here, goes...
(Most of the place is minimum level 1 and max level 2)
1. Get some boxes to get started
2. Clean Master Bedroom and pack as I go. a. Dresser b. Night Stand#1 c. Area in front of Night Stand #2 d. Night Stand #2 e. Laundry on floor that is sorted (14-15 loads) f. Hope chest g. Lingere chest h. Bookshelves i. 12 Rubbermaid boxes in master closet - sort, cull, toss, etc.
3. Master Bathrooma. Remove old caulk and recaulk tub b. Clean out linen closet - cull old bottles of lotions and other personal products.
4. Living Room a. Clean out entertainment center/armoire (3 drawers) b. Clean out 2-drawer file (used as an end table) c. Clean zone 1 of room (starting at wall with 2- windows, extending out 3 feet. d. Clean zone 2 of room, starting at wall with 1 window, extending out 3 feet past sofa e. Clean zone 3 (the rest of the room) f. Pack books from bookshelf g. Pack music CD's
5. Dining Room a. Clean out roll-top desk b. Clean out standard desk. c. Pack books from bookshelves d. Pack DVDs from DVD shelves
6. Kitchen a. Clean stove b. Clean out fridge c. Clean counter on right of sink d. Clean counter on left of sink e. Clean microwave f. Clean out pantry and pack g. Clean out and pack bottom shelves on the stove side h. Clean out and pack bottom shelves on the sink side i. Clean out and pack top shelves on the stove side j. Clean out and pack top shelves on the sink side k. Clean out and pack portable cupboard
7. DD's Rooma. Go through clothes and cull undesirables b. Pack shelves sitting on floor c. Pack shelves over desk d. Pack desk e. Pack dresser f. Under bed - pack and cull g. Organize and pack schoolwork to save
8. Hall bathrooma. Clean under sink and pack b. Clean linen closet (board games, etc.) c. Clean tub, re-caulk
9. DS's room - he will help with this as he can, but he will be taking classes and working and will have limited time. a. Patch 2 holes in sheetrock b. Clean out closet - huge task as it is about 6' x 8' walk in stacked floor to ceiling with various junk c. Under bed - who knows what lurks beneath? It's a queen size, so there's plenty! d. Shelves e. Clean and pack dresser f. Clean and pack night stand g. Clean and pack desk
10. Hall a. Go through old VHS movies - determine which to save and which to toss/donate b. Clean out small hall closet and pack items
11. Laundry room - floor to ceiling 8' x8' room stuffed with items in boxes mostly - from old aptartment 5 years ago.
I work full time and drive about 12- 14 hours each week. I also attend my daughter's cheer lessons that take up an additional 6-8 hours each week (too far away to drop her off and come home).
I know that these tasks will take a minimum of 80 hours of work time to accomplish. If I take off an extra day for the 4th of July holiday, I should be able to work 30-40 hours then (no cheer!). Next weekend I can work 16 hours. The following weekend I will be out of town. After July 4th, there are 2-3 more weekends before the move date. Sounds possible, but I know myself so well! I get sidetracked and run out of steam.
I would welcome any suggestions!
Wish me luck!!

What a daunting list! But the goal is admirable, a new, clean space for your family! Just remember to "eat that elephant" one bite at a time.

Not many ta-da's but here's what I have accomplished:
Master bathroom - done except for putting items into box for moving...will work on that tonight as it is a sit-down job and I will be tired then!
Laundry - 8 loads done this week, including what we wore during the week. That made a good dent in the mountain of clothes. Two more loads washing right now, and two in dryers - so that will bring up the total to 12. Still have about 6 loads to go of the "catch up" laundry.
Progress in the kitchen - not done yet, but did work there some.
DD's room clean but not packed - she did this herself!
DS's room is somewhat better - he has been muddling along bit by bit.
I am losing some of my cleaning hours due to a trip to Las Vegas my boss is sending me on - it's working a trade conference and I am too broke to play.
More ta-da's as they occur!

More ta-das....
Kitchen is 85% clean. Haven't started packing it yet..still need more boxes - but I got all the dishes washed, the stove done. part of the counters done. ALl that's left is the floor and fridge and the other countertop. Well, that and the packing.
Another ta da is that I got my clothes sorted and packed for the trip. Had to squeeze it all into a small suitcase - didn't want to check a bag. I washed an additional load of clothes, bringing the week's total to 13 loads! It's hard to believe I still have dirty clothes.
Off to Vegas tomorrow - no more Ta-da's until I get back.
