This is the Working in Threes Thread (W.I.T.)
EVERYONE IS WELCOME, especially if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple:
- Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing.
Once you have 3 things done, post them here.
- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again.
Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
. . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post.
Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da!
If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you.
Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM !

Good morning artsygal, and thanks for starting the thread!
Ta-das: - Got up before 07:30 (a terrific accomplishment for a weekend, thank you!0 - Fed and medicated cats - Posted to SOS with a solid to-do list
To-dos: - Take shower (swish & swipe while I'm there) - Have breakfast - Get dressed - Head out the door to run errands
I cheated and put four in there, but the plan is to be out of here very very quickly. I will be back to post once my errands are run.
Bye!

Good morning Artsygirl and mouse! WTG on the early start today, mouse! It has been really stormy here all week, and I was away from the computer a lot. We are leery of keeping them up and running after an expensive lightning strike a few years back. Also had intermittent problems with the internet provider this week. We have a fixed roof now! There was a break in the wind and rainstorms that allowed the roofers to negotiate our very steep slate roof safely, and they got it done in time for the latest blast of rain. We are having flooding here, but not as bad as the folks to our north. I'm originally from Wisconsin, and familiar with many of the affected areas there. There is a festival going on in our town right now, with rides, vendors and live music every day and night. When the rain hasn't been keeping us home, we've been up there to hear the bands, et al. Some of the grounds are very muddy and slippery, but everyone has adapted to the annoyance of waterlogged earth. Today should be dry all day, which will help. Today is the last, and biggest day of the festival, so I might not get back here to check in again till tomorrow. Ta da's: 1) Got up. 2)made coffee 3)fed the cat TO do's 1)load the dishwasher 2)get everyone coated in sunscreen. 3)drink lots of water and bring my own water bottles for the kids. 4)buy some socks for hubby as a part of his father's day gifts. 5)Order work shorts for hubby. 6)Spend a few minutes beating back the laundry menace. More than three, I know, but probably can't get back in here for the Ta da's later on. I totally have my work cut out for me after the festival. The hole in our roof thankfully did not leak into the closet of doom and despair, but I want to get it cleared out soon. We narrowly averted a soggy nightmare. If roofers had not been able to come when they did... Happy saturday, everyone!

To Dos: 1. hang laundry 2. put away stuff I moved to the upstairs hall 3. work on decluttering master bedroom for 30 minutes

Good afternoon, folks!
Laughinglark, congrats on getting the roof fixed between rainstorms. Enjoy the rest of the festival!
Stressedbythemess, you got a LOT done, even if it wasn't everything you listed. That counts! What you didn't get finished today you can work on tomorrow. The important thing is to do SOMETHING, not everything. Go, you!
We slept waaaaaaaaaay late this morning, after DD called late last night on the way to taking her DH to the emergency room with possible appendicitis. It wasn't, exactly, but there wasn't much sleeping going on last night.
DONE: -dressed -ate lunch -gave a dog an emergency bath -re-dressed -unloaded the dishwasher -scrubbed the sink
TO DO: -make the bed -do a load of laundry -fill the bird/squirrel feeder
