This is the Working in Threes Thread (W.I.T.)
EVERYONE IS WELCOME, especially if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple:
- Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing.
Once you have 3 things done, post them here.
- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again.
Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
. . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post.
Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da!
If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you.
Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das.

Hooray, madtiger! That's a lot of work done! I may not be able to post much again today, since there is a bunch of heavy weather moving right toward us today, and the computers will be off again. We just had the powerline fixed again yesterday. ::crosses fingers:: At least our flooding hasn't gotten too bad so far in this part of Missouri. The issue here is the soaked ground and the high winds pulling down trees. We have been under a flood warning like forever, but nothing like the north. Thunder from the blob of storms to the west is getting louder, so here's my list before I have to shut down. Ta da's 1) got up after a reasonable night's sleep, for me. 2) Made coffee. 3)Got kiddo up and dressed for summer school. To Do 1)Feed the furry land shark before he nips my ankles to remind me. 2)Change land-sharks's litter box. 3)gather up all of my necklaces that have migrated all over the house and hang them back up in the bedroom. and as a bonus 4)if we end up in the basement again today, I'l clean something down there. Happy desqualoring, and I'll see you after the weather lets up.

Good morning, madtiger, laughinglark, and hatdiva!
Welcome home, madtiger! That's quite a list of TADA's. Good for you!
Laughinglark, if you get something cleaned in the basement, that's great, but not because you were driven down there by the weather. I hope it lets up soon.
Go, hatdiva! Eat that elephant one bite at a time!
EDITED TO ADD:
WTG, stressedbythemess, for making a list. We have a dog problem with the bathroom rug, which is why we have four of them, and they get changed pretty much daily.
As for me:
DONE: -dressed -fed cats -made the bed -ate breakfast -took morning meds
TO DO: -unload the dishwasher -start a load of laundry -find ingredients for a cold pasta salad for lunch and get it made and in the fridge
The weather forecast calls for tomorrow to be ten degrees cooler than today! YAAAAAAAY!

Welcome newstart!!!!! You are off to a great start, with clearing the DR table and trash, WTG!!! Great start everyone! I was very busy yesterday and didn't post. I can really tell the difference. I did keep house maintained but it felt like I didn't, if that makes sense. For myself , these posts help my see and feel that I have done something and also keeps me accountable to myself. Yesterday I noticed I have quite a bit of anxiety around my returning home. I'm thinking about the messes not dealt with, the horrible weather, the flies that have thrived , etc.... At my mom's it's been wonderful working on maintenance but just want to put my fears out there so they don't grow in my head, . tadas -coffee -emptied dishwasher -fed dogs -made bed -helped mom with PT machine -15 mins of picking up @ house todos -shower and dress -take mom to Dr's appt. -make a list of things I need to do before I go <---- this is the 8th time I've posted this best, artsy

Greetings all, and thanks to tiger for starting the thread and all those tadas! You are all doing so well! it's been days since I posted, and I miss you all. Often I leave very early in the morning (west coast time) before my body doth protest too loudly and I don't get to any gardening jobs! This weekend was especially busy and social with graduation; something the whole community supports and embraces. Glad to be back, even though I'm posting in the afternoon!
We are having apt. inspections either on Friday or next Mon. or Tue. ACK; the apt's a mess, but I have hope that I can at least clean up the piles by Friday, in between work and cleaning up and clearing the large storage unit and moving to a smaller one.
ta das: made the bed washed all dishes, cleaned sink cleaned old food out of fridge
took out trash and recycle went to yoga ate breakfast and cleaned up
did some banking straightened and tidied the bathroom read another chapter in Overcoming Compulsive Hoarding[ I'm getting lots out of reading and doing the exercises in the book]
to dos: 1. go to work! It's late and it's going to be hot now, but I must go! 2. more banking and bill paying (2 are due) 3. either do more clearing of clutter here, or go to storage unit and do the same
I may or may not be back today; have a great rest of your day everyone!
