Syzygy, great job on getting the kitchen back to where it was last week! Wantinmore, WTG on all those ta das with dishes, counter, laundry, etc. -- you always impress me with how you are able to keep all those trouble-spots from erupting into total chaos and squalor. Glad to see you all here. Been away for a bit -- graduations and then a camping trip. Lots of driving and little sleep, but lots of fun, too! Between two back-to-back trips and several art projects/supplies taken out of storage and not yet put back into storage (for crafts for the camping trip), my house no longer has any really clean areas. And I've been too exhausted to do anything since I've been back. Skimmed some of the forums and posts for new stuff, but I'm sure there's stuff I missed. I'm not 100% into working in threes at the moment. Want to honor my body, which is legitimately exhausted from travel and sleepless nights. But I really do not want to slide back into uninhabitability!!! Not sure whether I'll post three to dos and then three ta das, or just the ta das, or what. For right now, to dos and ta das: Ta das: 1. Skimmed SOS and Live Journal 2. Trying to set color in tie dies with water and salt (sans washing machine) -- lots of rinsing and less color bleeding, but not 100% done 3. Brunch To dos: 1. Go to off-site storage unit to get larger tent etc. I am lending to friends this weekend. Pick up some milk and tomatoes while out and about. And more salt for the tie dye project 2. Plant the plants I bought yesterday, and add tomato cages to the large tomato container. ...crossing fingers that containerized condo "victory garden" will grow, if not thrive... water* 3. Wrap present for friend -- bring it and some stuff for potluck dinner tonight. Wishing you all well! *creativechaos, and several other SOS siblings, your posts about gardening have inspired me. . BTW, I saw a really gorgeous dahlia at the nursery yesterday. I wish I had greener thumbs and more light and better soil so I could grow flowers here. The xerioscape (sp? -- drought tolerant) plantings look very beautiful outside people's homes, but pretty rotten in flower arrangements! . Am debating whether to up the ante and start own compost here. Gotta be contained and smell-free or else the condo police will be on me big time. Right now I don't think I generate enough compostable stuff to make it worth my while ... WestsideStory

Condo Police... that sounds horrible. Do you mean people who are nosy neighbours? Or do you mean an actual committee of people who decide on what you can do?
You have some great plans Westside... I also hope to garden (finally) this weekend, before all the plant stands are closed. I haven't been able to make the time this month, and I miss it so much. It is normally my stress reliever.
Done: 1. Picked up police check for adoption paperwork. 2. Washed dishes and cleaned counter/sink. 3. Cleaned bottom drawer of fridge and shelves on door.
To Do: 1. Change into casual home clothes. 2. Declutter and vacuum tv room and living room. 3. Declutter kitchen table.

Way to go everyone! I have thoroughly stalled in my crisis cleaning, so I'm coming to WITs to keep myself going, even if it's one paper at a time. Tomorrow morning there's an appraiser coming for the building (I only found out this afternoon: eep!), and while the place is okay, there are a few problem spots I need to clean up before I'll feel entirely comfortable letting total strangers in, especially when I won't be home. Ta-das: - Emptied out kitchen sink
- De-junked two boxes in the bedroom & reduced them to 1/2 box of Stuff
- Put a box aside with Freecycle stuff in it
- Vacuumed the bedroom
- Tossed a bunch of trash from the bedroom
- Put in a load of laundry & rebooted the previous load
To-dos: - Get rid of the rest of papers/stuff currently on my bed
- Put away clean clothes
- Reboot laundry
Okay. Back when I've done that. I'm setting my timer! ~Mouse

I'm back! It truly is amazing what can get done in 15 minutes. Ta-das: - Rebooted laundry
- Stripped bed
- Put sheets in the wash
- Put some of my clean clothes away
- Cleaned two really grimy spots on the floor (dried cat puke: yuck!) after I stepped on one and decided enough was enough
To-dos: - Get rid of stuff still on bed (*sigh*)
- Finish putting away clean clothes
- Deal with the two spots that my cats "mistook" for the litter boxes

<whine>I'm tiiiiireeeeed!</whine> Okay, I feel a bit better now. Ta-das: - Hung up/folded & put away clean clothes
- Sorted through papers on bed
- Recycled papers I had no use for
To-dos: - Deal with the aforementioned "inappropriate litter box" moments (bleah)
- Remove laundry from dryer & put away
- Do a "sweep" of living room to get rid of useless paper

Thanks creative chaos! I dont remember if I listed out all the projects, but they're too many to list I think. And good luck with those piles, although I'd call that "actual" cleaning myself. So you've already started. syzygy - yay for clean kitchens. Go you, especially on the microwave (a task I have not gotten around to myself!) The car and the printer and project M will just have to wait till tommorow, but that's alright. I got #1 on this list in, which is even better. TaDa 1. Went to meditation 2. Cleaned the litter box, maintained the bathroom, sprayed the feliway, and put that rug in the wash! 3. Cancelled that appointment! 4. Ran the dishwasher as it was full. Still To Do 1. Take meds, evening routine 2. Finish off this water 3. put away the stuff that I tossed on the bed this morning.

I'M really running out of momentum here. The driving force in me wants to go to bed and forget about this whole cleaning nonsense. Unfortunately, my sheets are in the wash, so I won't be getting to bed for another hour or so. I am sneaky and force myself to do stuff that way. Ta-das: - Tidied two shelves on the bookcase
- Put away some clean clothes & rebooted those that somehow didn't get dry on their first go-through in the dryer
- Put away a couple of random things that had found their way into the living room which don't normally live in there
- Put all outstanding bills/paperwork in a tidy pile next to the filing cabinet
To-dos: - Vacuum
- Deal with those poor-litterbox-usage spots, dagnabbit! I keep procrastinating.
- Reboot laundry & put away current clothes

Whew! I'm "finished." Obviously, there's no such thing as finished in the world of housekeeping, but the apartment is now clean enough that I won't instantly die of embarrassment when the appraisers come in. I have a couple more small things to do while I wait for my sheets to be dry, and then I will make my bed and lie in it! Ta-das: - Rebooted laundry
- Put away last of clothes
- Threw away a sneaky stowaway turtleneck with a huge hole in it. It tried to sneak back into my wardrobe, but I caught it!
- Vacuumed the whole freaking apartment!
- Put trash outside
- Put out large cardboard box for recycling
- Dealt with the "inappropriate litter" spots
- Emptied out & refilled litter boxes
To-dos: - Wipe window sill (it's got marks and stains from dirty little cat feet)
- Pull out laundry & make bed
- Go to bed, already.

Laundry still isn't dry (*weeps*), so I got a bit more done. Ta-das: - Did last remaining dishes
- Shined kitchen sink
- Cleaned up the cat pee that my cat thoughtfully left right next to the brand-spanking-clean litter box. In her defense, I think her aim was off, rather than anything malicious in intent
- Scrubbed windowsills
- Hid the three large green garbage bags full of containers that I haven't sorted out yet into one of the closets (*innocent whistle*)
- Washed off my feet (did I mention that I stepped in the cat pee? Blechh!)
The minute my laundry is dry, it's going on the bed, and then I am going in the bed! G'night everyone! ~Mouse
