Well, since there have been a couple of "I'm at level 1" posts recently, I decided to jump on the bandwagon.
So... I'm finally at level 1! When I first found Squalor Survivors in 2006, I was at level 3. After my sweet kitty passed on in early 2007, I went down to level 2 because I wasn't dealing with kitty accidents all the time. I tried many times to get down to level 1, but backslid every time.
Last month, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis during a pretty bad flare. Well, pretty bad by my standards. I had what I think was a flare back in February, but I had a lot more symptoms this time around. My neurologist gave me a note excusing me from work for two weeks, and my employer allowed me to take FMLA leave.
The first week of my leave, I was too shocked and tired and ouchy to lift a finger. But the second week I felt a little stronger and decided that I was going to take advantage of the time off work to get the house clean.
It was slow-going, I could only work about 15 minutes at a time before having to sit down and rest. But I worked whole days that way - work 15 minutes, rest 30. Work 15, rest 30.
I've also started doing maintenance! This is very, very exciting for me as I haven't done maintenance in probably 10 years. I am cleaning things that don't look dirty. I have always had a hangup about that - why should I clean something that's not dirty??? But now I know it's better to spend two minutes swiping something that's *not* dirty than an hour scrubbing something that *is* dirty.
In summary - level 1 achieved! Level 0 - in my near future! I had wanted to be there by now but since I've been back at work I've only had the energy to clean on the weekends (except for maintenance which I am doing daily). So I am waiting for the weekend to get some more stuff done.

This is so encouraging to read first thing in the morning!! Congratulations. Way To Go!

Congratulations on your accomplishment, mayqueen! w00t!
I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. My late uncle had MS (he died of unrelated lung cancer) and lived with it for nearly forty years. Luckily there have been huge strides made in the treatment of MS, so I hope your doctor is giving you all the advice and resources that are available out there.
Best of luck!
