I've had enough! I'm sick and tired of clutter and disorganization running my home and my life. I'm ready to fight for my freedom!
So in honor of the Fourth of July and Canada Day, I'm declaring my independence! I'm going to work on my home this weekend and make the Boston Tea Party look like - well, a tea party!
Who's with me in the fight for freedom? Defending life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? Defeating the tyranny of clutter? LET'S DO IT!!!!
Please post your progress here....that will help encourage me!

Sign me up and I will take the box lunch . I am giving up a family party at my sons house and am enduring my son's disappointment. He will eventually get over it but I NEED my home back. Today is work my hiney off day because tomorrow my fiance will be installing my new A/C thank Heavens. He has not seen this mountain of mess and while I know what I have accomplished he will have no idea and will still be shocked with what is left. Only so many hours in a day and I will do the best I can! I will post my progress as I go along.

9:32 am - filled two more bags of "eeeewie" trash and double bagged it in case it splits open on the way o the dumpster. I have created a trash dispenser . As I pull stuff from the mountain more tumbles down in the place the old stuff was. So far I am able to do this from the comfort of a chair. As long as it tumbles ....

Just dragged some bags to the dumpster and .... Have you ever dumpster dived? I have found so many cool things that people threw out and a lot of it is here pn the condo going BACK to the dumpster . But just now I saw the neatest thing and am soooo thankful it was too big and heavy for me to lift out: i173.photobucket.com/albums/w75/thecactuslady/dumpsterdive.jpg

Darn phone rang and the conversation got me off track. Hung up the phone and turned to the mountain again and .... thought it didn't look all the much smaller. Discouragement setting in. Thinking about the deadline of tomorrow and knowing it is impossible. Only fooling myself. Going to step out for a bite of lunch and maybe I can regain my momentum when I return. Anyone else making progress? ??

Rennie, I didn't see this post until today, but I'm with you.
Spent yesterday deep cleaning the bathroom. Finally got the soap scum off the tub. Cleaned the inside of the medicine cabinet. Cleaned the bottles and jars in the medicine cabinet. Washed the floor. You name, I did it. On the surface, it doesn't look all that different, but I *know* that everything is really clean now.
This morning, I sorted papers in the dining room and recycled a bunch. I vacuumed the living room and dining room. But I still need to pick things up and put them away.
Onward to clutter freedom!

theroyaldump: do you have a cane, or a rake? You could help the trash dispenser move along. On a more practical note, think about how your fiance could help. I'll bet he'd take those bags to the dumpster for you.
