My landpeople (landlady and landlord) have just finalized most of the paperwork on their new house! That means they're taking possession of the new house on August 29th, and moving out that weekend, and I'm moving into the downstairs apartment. I'm going to have a finished basement, the entire first floor, and the garden all to myself! The tenant who was supposed to take over my current apartment had to back out, and so there is no one moving in here yet. This gives me a bit of breathing space with regards to getting the dining room floor sorted out. I will be able to move out and then sand/re-varnish the floor, without having to worry about shifting furniture or boarding the cats (a very expensive proposition!). My apartment right now is clean. It's 0 to 1st degree in all rooms, leaning closer to 0 in most cases. I have some major de-cluttering to do in the closets and bookcases, but apart from that, things are in very good shape. This means that I have a little over two months in which to de-clutter two small closets, two bookcases, the kitchen cabinets, and pack up the rest of the apartment into boxes. This is completely manageable. It's going to take a lot of regular work, maintenance and patience, but I can do this. I do NOT want to start over in the new place with all the crap that I brought to this apartment. I want to turn over a new leaf in the new place, with no clutter, and my routines already properly established. I never want to go back to the way I was living before. I want to have a home of which I am proud, to which I look forward to coming back after work, into which I can welcome my friends and family at all times. This is what I am *thisclose* to having, and what I will have by the end of the summer. This is my dream, and it's about to come true. ~Mouse
