I thought this was a sweet story. After the passing away of an elderly lady, her garden was found to be full of garden gnomes. Instead of being sent to the tip, her collection was rescued and the 1500 gnomes were fostered out. www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/07/29/2639561.htm?section=justin(I used to live not far from the rural town of Cootamundra when I was a kid. It is lovely farming country.)

I think it is cute that they will all be reunited at the Gnome Convention.

Love yard gnomes. The kids had a blast taking a neighbor's gnome on vacation this year. I'm glad these will be treasured.

This story makes me want to collect gnomes, and the last thing I need is another collection! They're so collectible though...
