I saw my arthritis doctor April 30th. Today I received a bill from them for $113.67. I called them only to learn that my Health Insurance wasn't in effect!! <<GASP>> Say what???!!
I called the insurance company. My insurance ended Dec 31, 2007!!
I called my retirement group. Everythings ok. I'm covered by another provider. I should have received a new medical card by mail, but I didn't.
So I called the new insurance company. I'm to receive my card in 7 - 14 days.
My forgetting about getting a new card & my not realizing that I hadn't got one is par for the course for a Messy & for someone with fibromyalgia.

Oh wow...! Glad you got it worked out. Don't be too hard on yourself. More than likely THEY didn't send the card or the notice.... I've had several dealings with insurance companies who drop or change coverage, but don't feel the need to notify the client.

Messysue,
After reflecting on past moving posts, especially in light that forgetfulness is oftentimes squalor related...i am moving this back to the general post. You are right, I can see the relationship between the two now....Thanks for your patience in the matter.
Blessings

I've done this too. In my case it was just for lab work and they refused to see me without a new card. My new card was still in the envelope, at the bottom of a stack of unopened mail.

I have had no insurance for years, it started out for similar reasons (forgetting to pay bills, I'm self-insured) and then slid from there
it's good that they are sending you a new card so soon!
it is completely par for the course to forget even the good things that we have access to!
