I have been down in the dumps. I have a ton to do to clean up and pack for a move in August. My son is on a 3 and a half week trip to japan - he just left. (he's 18) My daughter is spending July with her dad. I went to chat and got inspired to start cleaning. The second thing on my list was to clean out one of the night stands. In it, I found a poem. I vaguely recall writing it but I can't recall who it was written for. But it was just what I needed to hear today - and I wouldn't have found it if I hadn't done the night stand.
Some days it seems you reach the brink, Your base gives way and down you sink.
It's hard to smile or even sigh, You hang your head and start to cry.
But once you run out of your tears, And finish facing all your fears,
Remember just how much you've done, The battles fought, the time's you've won.
Listen to your inner voice, That knows that if you had the choice,
You'd do things over just the same, Deep down you know you're not to blame.
You're strong and smart and caring, too, And lots of folks are proud of you.
So stand up tall and keep believing. Don't waste your time on excess grieving.
You've had your cry and now you're ready, So move on forward, strong and steady.
I don't think this was finished.....but it was enough for me today to feel some healing.

Well, so far it is going okay - slow but at least I am making some progress. I have filled two trash bags and cleaned out one of my 12 large rubbermaid bins. I also totally cleared out both night stands so they are ready for the move.
More goals for today include:
Cleaning out and off the top of the Lingere Chest (six drawer tall skinny chest)
Roll top desk - clean it totally out and put the papers in a box for sorting later
Bed - clear off all of the random stuff that ended up on the bed during the last few weeks
Laundry - two loads washed and dried
Kitchen - load and run dishwasher
It is 7:00 pm and I will work four or five hours - lets see how much I can get done!

Ok, let's see how far I get today. So far for the weekend I give myself a C+. Maybe I can pull it up to a B+ if I do well today.
Extra challenge today because the air conditioner is frozen and blowing warm air until it defrosts. It did this before and it took several cycles of defrosting it until it worked right. So, it is HOT in here!
