Dear SOS friends: this is material which I wrote for the old Squalor Survivors site. Some dear friend kindly suggested that I re-post this here. Luv from Script Official Certificate of Arrival Welcome to Planet Maintenance "the final frontier"Today's Date Dear SOS friend: We are pleased to inform you that you have indeed arrived at a new plane of consciousness. Yes, you were abducted by aliens ("cleaning fairies") and you have landed on a strange new world called Maintenance. It, like earth, is a Class M planet, suitable for humanoid life, but it has a completely different atmosphere: we are surrounded by rings of peace (not rings left behind by coffee cups on dirty counters) we hear soothing sounds of happy people going about their work (not yelps of dismay and cries of despair) our ground is incredibly fertile (for all sorts of new creative endeavours) the light is so much better (we are able to recognize clutter more easily) we have more positive energy (which helps us keep on keeping on). Please do not be alarmed by the positive changes in your life; we know you will be happy with your new you. Once you become acclimatized, you will like it here. We promise! Kindest regards from the Planet Maintenance welcoming committee our enterprising motto: "we boldly go where we have never gone before!"

Would you guys like me to design a real certificate, something downloadable that you can enter your name in and print out? I have a PDF creation program, and Adobe Photoshop... I can totally do something. It would take me a while, but I'd be happy to if anyone is interested.

I've visited Planet Maintenance a few times - lovely place. Haven't managed to move there permanently yet.
I do plan to retire there, though, in the not-too-distant future.

Thanks for posting this, Script! It really is a great thing to get to planet maintenance. I consider myself to be there, although I still struggle a lot. I have lots of digging out and sorting to do, but for the most part, my home is fairly clean. Having a housekeeper come in every two weeks helps, but the family and I still struggle to keep it clean. Or to remove piles before she comes, so that she can clean!
DragonChilde, I think a certificate would be grand. In fact, I think the original post had lots of fancy fonts that were lost when I saved it! BUT....I know that you are struggling with accomplishing lots of things right now. This is definitely something that can wait!

DragonChilde, I would proudly display a certificate when I get my house in order. It would be a constant reminder of the huge accomplishment I had made. Thanks for offering.

Oh I look forward to the day when I arrive at Maintenance. I am fortunate to be able to say that I have 3 rooms where I feel I have arrived: bathroom, office (mine) and living room. The rest I am still working on certification. It will be so great! Meanwhile I am practicing by doing some maintenance each day in my good rooms to keep them there.
