How do you clean a shower that hasn't been cleaned for about 6 years? It's made of some form of cheap plastic. I think that it might have mold or mildew or both growing in it. It's some black slimy stuff.

If it were me, I'd put straight Clorox in a spray bottle & let 'er rip. Let it sit, rinse & repeat.
That should pretty much kill all the nasties, though the plastic might be permanently stained.
You **can** get it clean, though. Once the bleach has killed the mold or mildew, you can scrub with regular cleaners.
Good luck!

One of those magic sponges (that you just use water with) might do a surprisingly good job, I know it does an excellent job on my bath, although using it on tiles means that the grout part shreds it up too much.

I love not having to buy special products, so...
Wear a mask, so you don't inhale the mold spores. Wear gloves, and clothes you can afford to get bleach-spotted. Turn on the biggest fan you have. Spray the area with 50% chlorine bleach and 50% water. Wait a few minutes, then rinse. This will kill the dangerous stuff.
Once you can't smell the bleach anymore, you can remove the mask.
To remove the soap scum from plastic or glass, spray with lemon juice, and wait a few minutes. Pour some baking soda, borax, or salt into a bowl, and add enough lemon juice and liquid soap/shampoo to make a paste. Scrub with a plastic scrubber and a toothbrush. Rinse.
Rather than buy special cleanser, I'd spend my money on one of those battery-operated scrubbers. I once used one to clean an entire flight of wooden steps--they're great!
Cheap and effective.

Howard'sGF has the right idea. Only change I would make is add a tiny squirt of detergent to the mix of chlorine bleach and water, to penetrate the moldy areas better. You can buy a plastic putty knife/scraper at the dollar store too. The plastic won't hurt the plastic walls of the shower walls. Bleach kills just about anything that grows in a moist area. Leave the windows open. Protect yourself from splashes and stuff that's riled up by mechanical cleaning. Scrape off all you can. Soaking it in soapy bleach solution will make it fly off easily. Give it a couple minutes.
