I have been an occasional visitor to the Squalor Survivors site for a couple of years, but never checked out the message boards there. It's kind of nice to discover this shiny new place, and join in fairly early in its (hopefully) long run.
So, as mentioned, I'm a slob - but an idiosyncratic one. Some run-of-the-mill housekeeping chores I simply CANNOT do, but other, supposedly more tricky things, I have no problem with. For some reason, I don't seem able to make myself dust or vacuum, but my bathrooms are usually at least mostly clean and neat; I find cleaning them almost fun.
The kitchen, on the other hand, is a mixed bag. No problem with keeping dishes washed, but the refrigerator - oy! I swear I don't remember buying all those half-used condiments! And the less said about the oven, the better.
I live alone in a large (for one) house, and that has its pros and cons. On the one hand, nobody else making a mess for me to clean up after; on the other hand, I can luxuriate alone in my mess with no immediate impetus to pick up.
Well, enough about me for now. I look forward to giving and getting support and inspiration here - I know there's no problem that someone here hasn't faced before.

Welcome, Rocky! I'm glad that you decided to post! It is simply amazing how much we can grow and change, when we put our minds to it! And have lots of virtual friends to help us along!

Hi Rocky! Welcome from a long time SS sister even if I am a somewhat rare poster! I have issues with dishes but will scrub the stove top til it sparkles. I think we need to change houses for a few weeks  |

Hi there, Rocky, wlecome.
Aren't fridges and ovens the pits? I used to do a weekly fridge clean. I would bring the grocery shoping home and then clean the fridge out before I put the new stuff away.
Maybe I should try to start doing that again?
I got rid of the carpets, no vacuuming!

I hope for your sake we can help you make that apartment look nice enough that potential Adrians will just gravitate towards it. Let us be your crusty old trainer as you deliver a knockout punch to your squalor and whatever makes it lift its head off the canvas when you so clearly want to triumph over it!
