This is the Working in Threes Thread (W.I.T.) EVERYONE IS WELCOME, especially if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple:
- Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing.
Once you have 3 things done, post them here.
- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again.
Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
. . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post.
Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da!
If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you.
Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM!

1. Unloaded/reloaded dishwasher and started 2. Made pancakes 3. Cleared kitchen surfaces (somewhat) and swept some floors
Also: Bought groceries etc. Put some of those away
Todos:
1. Rest for half an hour 2. Put away the rest of the groceries 3. Clear my computer desk

Good morning, Rosebud, creativechaos! Can I have some of those pancakes? I've got a lot to do this morning, because my MIL has threatened to visit today. She's supposed to call, but i'm going to assume she's coming, and take care of some of my big-time hotspots.
Ta das!
1) Started a load of pants... none of my pants are clean, so I'm sitting around in my underwear 2) Cleared pile of clothes next to bed (bed is in dining room because of the squalor in our bedroom) Some Ta das from last night, since I never made it onto SoS... I'm counting them for today! 3) Cleaned entire living room... put up baby toys, swept floor 4) Cooked a REALLY good supper 5) Did some dishes, but wasn't able to finish because of a really nasty electrical storm that swept in. Safety over cleanliness any day! 6) Went to dollar store and bought three plastic storage containers to put christmas decorations in. Right now, they're in cardboard boxes, but my roof leaks, so we can't store them in the attic until we can be sure they won't be ruined. 7) GOT MY HAIR CUT! It's been over a year. Now it looks much nicer.
To Dos:
There's going to be more than three, because I have so many hotspots that need to be done, TODAY.
1) Clean up kitchen - wash supper dishes and throw away last night's supper that sat out... won't take long, though, because I've been keeping the kitchen in maintenance 2) Fold Mount Laundrymore - I've bee putting it off long enough. Today's the day! 3) Clean toilet/sink in bathroom 4) Move Mount Dirtylaundrymore onto back porch, where it can be more easily dealt with. Can't get to the toilet easily because of it 5) Box up Christmas decorations in the new plastic storage containers

I guess I'm in the right place then. I'm fighting the urge to just go back to bed. If y'all don't mind, I'm just going to post my 3s here and edit this one post with whatever I can manage to get done. * Got up * Calculated how much medication I took yesterday * Took meds * Got Diet Dr. Pepper * Tried to fix some corrupted files on my computer * Fed & watered cats * Answered phone * Ate an apple * Ate some cheese & peanut butter crackers * Threw cracker wrapper away * Sat & stared at computer * Read a few threads * Got another Diet Dr. Pepper * Drank some water * Threw away 2 empty pop cans 10:52 AM Central * Cleaned up desk * Reorganized new purse to where I can hopefully find things better and more conveniently * Made phone call 11:38 am Central * Made another phone call - there is important family function today that I wasn't going to try to drag myself to, but my mom is really not feeling good so she's decided not to go. So then it would just be my dad. And if I don't go, the next time I'm likely to see either of these people (a couple) is in a casket. So. Guess that's enough to move me into 'high gear'. Was good to see one of my very favorite uncles - I think my favorite, actually. He has Alzheimer's, but whatever meds they have him on seem to be working well as he was quite sharper than I expected him to be. Can't tell if the "repair" made the item look better or worse. But I managed to stay out of bed for the majority of the day, which, considering my mood - I'd say is a definite accomplishment!

Hi all,
Yesterday was a no-go, so I'm going to try to get back in today.
dragonchilde- 1) Started a load of pants... none of my pants are clean, so I'm sitting around in my underwear
I hate to admit how often that happens to me. Unfortunately, I have a neighbor who's between me and laundry, so sometimes I have to sneak to the washer.
Ta dah * Breakfast * Cats' breakfast * Got today's to do list together * Set up A/C and fan- it's going to be in the 90s and humid * Wrote notes on report- that's my #1 priority today, so I thought I'd just do it and have it done.
To do * A lot. We'll see what gets done when.

Carrie7on... absolutely. I've since amended it to Mount Cleanlaundrymore and Mount Dirtylaundrymore... since I have two mountains to climb! Tada: I'm gonna make it bold because it's three tadas all by itself! 1, 2, 3) FOLDED MOUNT CLEANLAUNDRYMORE! 1) Put cloth diapers in a diaper bag and put in diaper shelf 2) threw away several empty disposable diaper packages 3) made lunch for toddler and myself

Alright, finally some real progress today.
TaDas 1. Worked on project V that I found from when I was a kid. I'm now 70% done and know what I will use it for when I'm done. 2. Threw out all the boxes on the porch, some of the trash that roommate was supposed to, rebagged what he didn't in a secnd bag. and threw out all the trash from sorting on the sofa. And the trash in my car. 3. Emptied the clean dishwasher, halfway filled it again 4. Took a load of stuff to goodwill. 5. Ironed 7 pieces of clothing out of the bin 6. talked to an old friend from high school! lunch tomorrow! 7. left a message for where i was supposed to be tommorow that I now will be late to. 8. Arranged to give some extra storage bins to a friend who needs them in the morning. 9. Stopped at an apartment complex and found I can add it to the list of potentials to move next year (starting early)
ToDo 1. Food, I have eaten crackers today and that is all and it is 2 30 in the afternoon. 2. Hang up/put away what I ironed so it doesnt get wrinkly again 3. take a nap. i really really need it i hate to say.

So much activity!! And I started out ok this morning with kitchen and gocery shopping, which all made me feel exhausted - so I decided to lay down for half an hour.
Woke up after 3 or 4 hours.
Tadas (after I woke up again):
1. Started dinner 2. Put on some comfortable (NOT stylish) clothes 3. Writing this
Todos:
1. Try to clean up afterwards when we have had our dinner 2. Maybe tidy up my computer desk 3. Unload/load/restart dishwasher
