All I can say is thank God I found this site. I was begining to think I was the only person on earth with this kind of problem. I just couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. I feel frozen and overwhelmed by the mess that I have allowed to take over my home. I'm depressed, want to sleep ALL the time, don't want to go anywhere or do anything. I can't seem to ever get control of the clutter. My daughter calls it hording, It's not though, it's just not having the energy or the inclination to sort through, organize and get rid of stuff. I try to call the Salvation Army at least every couple of weeks to take stuff away but it seems even though I get rid of stuff I still have too much. No, I don't buy stuff or gather it, it's just crap I have held onto for far too long!
When I finally do get things in order and clean(I have never had everything clean all at the same time) I feel like its still not clean enough and feel like I have to have it perfect, kind of like all or nothing. Does that make any sense?
Well I feel like I'm not really making any sense here, but I'm glad I found you and sense Wed. I have cleaned my kitchen (no pic's, to embaressed) and cleaned of my kitchen table. I have much more to do.
As a goal I would like to have an empty garage and no storage(yes they are both full!) Not to mention a clean and organized home. Thanks for being here and listening. need2bfree

What you are describing is so familiar. Yes, I was there, and some days I still am. I know what it is to have a mountain of mess and feel ab-so-lut-ly paralyzed by it. But the good news is that you can reclaim your house. Well done for joining this commuinity, well done for posting and sharing. Well done for that first step. Do you know that now you are now some-one who is taking action? That is awesome!

I just love your name...I, too, need to be free! It sounds like you have excellent sorting skills, and that you are able to let things go. I hope that this community can help you move forward in overcoming the mess! It has been invaluable to me!
Welcome, and I'm so glad that you found us!

"I feel frozen and overwhelmed by the mess that I have allowed to take over my home. I'm depressed, want to sleep ALL the time, don't want to go anywhere or do anything. I can't seem to ever get control of the clutter."I can really, really relate to your feelings including sleeping to avoid it all. (You just feel so tired when you are depressed.) And the feeling that it is "all or nothing" is familiar too. It seems to me that part of the desqualoring process is taking babysteps. Changing a little at a time seems to work in the long run as you actually change your habits. Anyway, you are sure in the right place! Welcome aboard and here's a hug to get started with!!

Welcome need2bfree,
Yes, I too know the paralysis of far too much stuff. Like you, I'm not acquiring more, I just lack the energyto get rid of very much very fast. I often work on the working-in-threes thread in Listzilla. Please join us if you want.

Hi! I understand perfectly - my issue is similar. Not gaining stuff, just not doing anything about taking care of it or getting rid of it, etc. Anywho, congrats on the kitchen work! Nice to meet you!
