I haven't cleaned anything in forever, it seems. The whole house is dirty. Not just messy but dirty. Stuff piled up, dishes not done, floors filthy. I don't have all the 'stuff' I used to, but what's here is driving me nuts. I haven't vacuumed the carpet in months. I have adrenal fatigue and neuropathy, so when I get home from work I go for my walk then collapse in the chair, surfing the net and watching DVDs. I've been waiting and waiting for my five day vacation to get here so I can get things in order. Starting Friday, I need to get this place in shape. I'm not looking forward the the project, but I know I'll feel better overall once it's all cleaned up. It's the getting started that's hard. I'll probably be posting as I work my way through the mess, so please help me out with some cheers, ok? I'll be needing them. Maizy

I'll be here to help you out with some cheers and support! Sometimes I'm only working my way through putting 5 items away (put away or thrown away) at a time but everything is progress.

Hey I am in the same boat... I had 3 days off this week and really wanted to get the place in shape. It has been over a year since I have had anyone over except my mother and my ex, He just comes over un announced. He would always complain about the state of the house untill I suggested the children stay at his place with him untill I got the mess sorted out. Funny how that shut him up right away. I am sick to death of tripping over things. I am sick of my stuff being distroyed cause it gets walked on or the fur babbies pee on it! My kitchen is not to bad. A few dirty dishes. Can't see the table cause of the stuff piled on it! I have been working on it for 2 days now... not able to get much done I get distracted in another room. I had to go to the city for arrands. Needed to go to the store to pick up stuff. anything but cleanning. I to, have a week booked off from work. I would rather spend it at the lake having fun, but, I am committed to spending it here cleanning. I have made no other plans. I have asked my dear mom to come help she said she could. That is a whole week away. so, I am trying to get as much done as possible. I am to the point I do'nt care how it got this bad I just want it fixed. I am scared that my kids think living like this is normal! I do'nt want to beat my self up about it anymore. Its time to just get it done. I dream of using my dresser and getting clean clothes out of it. I dream about clean sheets, not walking on crap. I dream of having a nice place for me and the kidlets. Its all to much. So, I am taking baby step~ cheering my self on for the little things. I will try working in 3's. setting a timer. Staying in one room untill its done. Toss things with out guilt! I will let my self dream of new furniture but will not buy anything new untill I get the mess sorted out. Any effort is a small step towards our goal, one small piece of trash that makes it to the garbage can is one small piece of trash that I don't have to step on~look at daily and feel guilty that it is still there. silly how much brain power that takes up in my head. mzaucontraire~ love your Mitch Hedburg quote. We listen to him here, I love when he said he would like the cell phone number 2, you know you will have pushed 2 enough when I say Hello.

Well, got some of Mt. Washmore done. I haven't ironed in months, so every single shirt I own needs a good ironing. Ugh. I hate ironing more that anything! I moved the pantry stuff to the new shelves in another part of the kitchen and washed most of the dishes, which will go on the now-empty pantry shelves. I printed out the Driver's Manual from the DMV website so I can study for my M2 license (I'm buying a moped because I can't afford gas AND a life, so I'm going back to my 70s roots so I can get 100 MPG and not have to spend $150.00 on gas every month). Took out a bunch of trash only to find someone has stolen my big city-supplied trash barrel. I'll have to ask the landlord to call the trash company and request a new one. Picked up a bunch of junk and shoved it onto a shelf in the living room. Tomorrow I'll start sorting through stuff and tossing it out. It's 12:42 am and I'm beat but Craig Ferguson is a great way to end a very long day! Maizy

You know, if you throw a damp towel into the dryer for a few minutes with a piece of clothing, it looks almost like you ironed it. Just not as crisp. Good work on the Mountain, maizy. Good luck.
