One cat, Mesquite. He's 6 years old, grey shorthair, and almost 15 pounds. He's also called Chunk-Butt, and Chunk-a-Boo. He is indoor only. A prisoner for life but, what a life!

I'm a sucker for 4 paws with claws.
I have 12 in my clouder.
I acquired 6 last year - the vet's bad boy, a Craigslist special needs, flunked fostering 3 kittens for my vet, and a friend's bad girl (she couldn't handle her; I do so so, but can't pick her up, nor trim her claws by myself due to her violent reactions)
Needless to say, I won't foster again. I really didn't need to wind up with 12, but giving back the kittens, when I'd recently lost 2 seniors would have been like losing 5 in 3 months. I couldn't do it.

Thanks everyone! I knew SOS'ers were a caring bunch.. it breaks my heart see so many animals being dumped by their owners, around here there aren't any no kill shelters. Most of the rescue groups are over capacity.. My vet told me that people are losing their homes and can't take the pets when they move to apartments so they end up leaving them behind.

One dog and one cat. That's enough. Hubby says when the dog goes we won't get another. That's what he thinks, yeah right.

We currently have 4 dogs and 4 cats, all foundlings and rescues: Merlin the black lab, who can open the fridge and defeat childproof latches. He fixed everyone a breakfast of stroganoff, raw boneless chicken, rice, sour cream, pizza, and margarine this morning. Zephyr, the American Eskimo mix, who has demolished a futon cushion, Radar, the Cairn Terrier- Poodle mix, who resemble a dirty string mop in more ways than one, Abby, the albino Japanese Chin, who's too small to make much trouble, Cats include Tom, the marmalade, Mocha, the siamese, and Brothers Ziggy and Milo, currently on "long-term foster" status. We may be adopting the neighbors' beagle, too. I'm so glad that DH loves a big fur-family, and Our community has a limit on the number of pets per household.

At the moment we have 1 dog, 1 cat and 1 cockateil. Youngest wants something. Maybe a lizard or a hairless rat. Haven't decided yet. This summer when he is out of school and can really learn to take care of it properly. I would love to take home all the adoptable cats at work. There are sooo many. I know my limits, though. I can't rob someone of the joy of a wonderful pet just because I am selfish and want them all.
I love reading what we all have. So diverse. It's great.

Two dogs, one cat, two hermit crabs, and two goldfish. Our city has a stupid limit of two dogs or two cats, or one of each, but we are trying to get that changed.
