hi.
first time posting. there's a whole thing about the house and the mice and the dog nearly dying from rat poison and my girlfriend's college friend visiting and the air conditioner we can't find the remote for and and and ... but i'm determined (for the sake of my sanity and survival) to focus on the positive. so, today's the day i bought an extra trash can, went out to the backyard, and dealt with the overflowing/rotting/stinking/rat-eaten/maggot-infested trash, including the lidless plastic tub that has been harboring a richly aging mix of trash and rainwater for the last ... how long? months, anyway, not weeks. (why was it there? i don't know why. it was right at the back gate, for flip's sake. whatever. baby steps, right?) then i ran screaming up the stairs to the shower and scrubbed myself for ten minutes.
how was your day? bizzy.

Hi Bizzy, welcome to our forum. I'm sorry about the dog, mice, ect. I had mice/rat problems years ago, and was lucky that none of my cats or dogs got into the d-con. Hope your doggy is ok now. Again, welcome, and keep your chin up. You have lots of nice folks here who have a lot of good advice to give, and friendly shoulders to lean on. 3g is me

How was my day? Better than that.
Hi, bizzy! Good for you for getting all that grossness cleaned up! Nice start! Maybe you could use snap traps placed somewhere the mice go, but the dog can't get them? They're gross to find and reset, but they won't poison the dog.
I love that you're already focused on the positive. Way to go! This is a great place to find encouraging people who understand what you're going through. Welcome!
