I also used to secretly visit the thrift store hoping to see some of the things I donated (I did see a couple) so I could say hi to them. It seems silly but it's very real. I did exactly this recently. I was curious to see if anything of my Mom's that I donated was on the sales floor. I didn't see anything. Not one item. Did they all sell? I like to believe that they did and that someone got some really nice things they needed at a good price. I hope so.

I once sold a lovely old teapot at a yardsale. I hated to let it go. Then I totally forgot about it till..... I saw it a couple years later at the purchaser's own yard sale... and I bought it again, for the same price I sold it. I just couldnt pass it by. ? ? ? ?
As I was decluttering the dining room recently, I decided ....again.... that it had to go. It went out with the goodwill stuff last week. If I were to see it .... again..... I'd take that as a sign that I should keep it forever.... I need to stop shopping in thrift stores.

I tend to keep most things from my mother. She's been gone for years and there isnt too much left, but enough. And there's really not much of value, other than sentimental because she loved this or that. But just now I realized that Mom was also a hoarder of sorts, and she loved and kept everything.
Do I need to keep everything that she loved and couldn't get rid of..... as well as everything I love and can't get rid of too? Nope.
