When I start my routine on Monday (decorating for rest of week) I would love to join this - I truly think it will help motivate me

It tends to help me a lot when I have a lot to do, and all of it is equally important. Also, I never get to use my good dice for D&D, so I have to put them to use somehow.

I have started I could cry as I have already done 79 mins and havent finished daily yet supposed to do 120 maximum today and taking a break my cup says where there is tea there is hope - not sure its my type of philosophy I feel overwhelmed already and dont know if to work passed my time so far dressed inc make up and hair ( I want to be ready to leave the house with a quick change of clothes grab handbag and coat and go if I need to 15 min bedroom tidy ( put away 8 items of clothing 4 bits ready to donate and two ready to give to friend) plan to do more every time I go in that room grabbed all household linens and they are in the washing machine went to clean sink and (pleased dont be horrified) was slimy and so dirty I have sprayed it with noxious chemicals (changing to green products as noxious ones run out) DH last used the cordless vacuum and there was fat and hair so much hair wrapped around the brush and a glob of fat on it - know whose hair = it belongs to DH as its longer than mine and grey I am not grey also swept and spot cleaned kitchen floor will be going upstairs to loo and bathroom to do dailies and weeklies up there - but not sure I will get to monthlies at all unless I do three hours today and two this afternoon so some can be carried forward to next week as ALL monthlies are behind the first week until the first time round so those not done will go to next week etc - sorry but tears dont help - this will be quicker tomorrow. good luck every one I hope you you are more caught up today - tea drunk and off I go Have a great day everyone H xx

Welcome!!!! This is a fun way to get started if you are a newbie, or if you are stuck and/or don't know where to start... or what to do next. The dice game here at SOoS has been evolving over time. Lately several of us have been using the "Game Board Method". But you can adapt the rules in whatever way works for you. You can also play the "Pick from a hat, sack, or bag Game", here. You don't have to make a list for that!!! (Just put little pieces of paper with individual tasks on them and draw from the hat, sack or bag & go do it & check back in here!!!) Directions for Dice Game: A. Make a list:1. bedroom 2. bathroom 3. kitchen 4. living room 5. dishes 6. laundry 7. pile of mail/bills/papers 8. yard work B. Roll a real or virtual die, (there's one at random.org) C. Go work in that area for a 10-15 minutes, or what ever works for you. If I roll a 2, I go in the bathroom and work for 10 minutes, or until I toss 10 items, or whatever quickly achievable goal I want to set for myself. D. Come back and post your accomplishment. E. Roll again and move ahead to that spot on the virtual board. For example, if I roll a 3 after my last roll (2), that moves me to 5. and I go and do some dishes. You don't have to post your list. You may keep it on paper. Suggestion: Take a break, drink some water, eat a small healthy snack after every 3 or 4 turns. Here's the link for random.org.www.random.org/diceHave fun! It's more fun when there are several people doing this at the same time! The above post has been copied and edited using posts from the previous few months. Ally and Seashell both contributed to those posts. Please feel free to copy and edit as you see fit in future months. Cando Wow these are really cool! Ill definitely give the dice game a try. Thanks for sharing.

I think this will suit my needs. Wish me luck! --Insert work on a load of laundry where needed.-- 1. 15 minutes on living room floor x3 2. Clear entertainment center3. Put away laundry4. 3 boxes down to trash5. Unload/reload dishwasher - Done as one6. Handwash dishes/clear/wipe down surfaces - One at a time 7. Tidy kitchen floor/sweep - One at a time, probably 8. 10 minute on the master floor x2 9. Clear Purple box & remove10. Make bed 11. Bag laundry overflow12. Get toys out of hallway13. Tidy boys' bath floor14. Boys' bath trash 15. Counters/sinks x2 16. Cull at least 5 of the boys' books 17. 10 minutes on boys' floor x2 18-20. Small snack or glass of water Chances are, I will not finish all this today. That is okay. I'll do as much as possible. If I had all the ingredients, I'd reward myself with practice-baking. Roll 1: 2 - Entertainment center Roll 2: 17 - Boys floor round 1 Roll 3: 13 - Bathroom floor Roll 4: 11 - Laundry overflow (funny, I almost started doing this when I was supposed to be doing the bathroom floor.) Day 2 Roll 1: 3 - Put away laundry - Good one as there's about three baskets worth. - Managed about 2 baskets Roll 2: 3 - And we'll do the last one now. **Break from rolling to gather a couple loads of laundry and start one.** Roll 3: 4 - Boxes - Adjustment: Discovered DH had already brought down several boxes, so I broke down a few small ones and put them into a bigger box, which I then taped. Called the disposal service to schedule an extra pickup. Easy-easy. Roll 4: 12 - Toys out of hallway **Broke to flip laundry** Roll 5: 9 - Purple box - Hahahaha Hahahahahaha Haha Culled the daylights out of the boxes, and now I'll be adding to the mess. Roll 6: 15 - Bathroom counters/sinks **Break to put away second load of laundry** Roll 7: 5 - Unload/reload dishwasher Roll 8: 20 - Snack **It's about time to pick up the boys. I'll have homework to help with, and then I'll have to take G to religious ed. After that, I'll be washing a load of dishes. I'll prep dinner, pick up G, finish cooking, and get the boys off to bed. If I still have energy, I'll clean out the fridge after the boys go to bed. I'm probably done with this thread for the day, but I plan to be back tomorrow. **

Going to shrink my list a bit. I'm happy with what I accomplished yesterday. With luck, I should be able to finish it off or come close. 1. 15 minutes on living room floor x2 2. Handwash dishes/clear/wipe down surfaces - One or two at a time 3. Tidy kitchen floor/sweep - One at a time 4. 10 minutes on the master floor x2 5. Make bed 6. boys' bath trash7. Counter/sink small bath8. Cull at least 5 of boys' books9. 10 minutes on boys' floor10. Small snack or glass of water Roll 1: 7 - Counter/sink **Break to attempt to hang new kitchen valances that just arrived. I'm dumber than the curtain rod, so I was defeated and have to wait for my husband. ** Roll 2: 6 - Bath trash Roll 3: 2 - Handwash dishes/clear surfaces? **Took a break for lunch and to help DH with some other stuff before, during, and after roll 3, which took me about 45 minutes for some reason. Now I'm resting my back so it doesn't explode by this evening.** **DH suggested a shower, and it made sense to do it before the kids got home rather than after.** Roll 4: 3 - Tidy kitchen floor - Something that DH actually just helped with a little (a rare thing) - This took way, way, *way* longer than I anticipated. It's done, though. Roll 5: 9 - 10 minutes on boys' bedroom Roll 6: 8 - Cull books - This one's hard because of sentimentality as well as the fact that the area in front of their bookcase is such an atrocious mess, that I'm not sure I can find 5 books to cull. Roll 7: 1 - 15 25 minutes on living room floor Roll 8: 2 - Kitchen surfaces wiped - My back is done. All that was left was the table anyway. Won't hurt to do that tomorrow.

Some of the stuff from yesterday will transfer to today, and I'll add some other stuff. This list will probably be worked on over the next couple days. Pick things up on desk every time I get up. Start a load of laundry and work on it as needed. 1. 15 minutes on living room floor x2 2. Pick up on & around love seat/take stuff down to storage - One at a time 3. Handwash missed dishes4. Load/run dishwasher 5. Clear/wipe down surfaces6. Sweep kitchen7. 10-minutes on master floor 8. Make bed9. Wipe down bathroom sinks 10. Toilets 11. Organize boys' books - 15 minutes at a time 12. 10 minutes on boys' floor x2 Roll 1: 8 - Make bed - Good start. I'm going to see if there's anything on my desk I can bring with me to the bedroom. - Took three items (that's all that goes to the bedroom) Roll 2: 6 - Sweep kitchen - There's loads of stuff that needs to go there. **Checked on laundry, bringing down the light load (down two flights of stairs) before remembering that I don't have quarters for that load. Also, the first load wasn't done. Roll 3: 3 - Handwash dishes **Did #5 out of habit** **Talked to my grandma for a bit but grabbed stuff here and there while I was on the phone. Grabbed the laundry from downstairs, and then I'll be folding it.** **Deleted some emails and unsubscribed from 29 mailing lists ** Roll 4: 7 - 10 minutes on master floor Roll 5: 10 - One toilet **May have completely destroyed my back with the toilet. I've got a heating pad on it now, but I'm not sure that's going to suffice. I may be done for the day, much to my chagrin. More upsetting is that I may be out of commission tomorrow, too.** Roll 6: 9 - Bathroom sink 1 - I could handle this one since the only bending it required was to get the rag and cleaner. **From here, I'm going to be done with the game. I'll still be doing some of the stuff on this list, but there are only 3 things I can handle out of 8.**

1st roll: Shower2shoes Wasn't wanting to do this right now, but oh well.
2nd roll: "8" Brush teeth & hair (Well, the hair is covered in the blow-drying related to shower).... Amazing the order of both of these random rolls. I mean, it makes sense to start the day with Shower2shoes and brushing teeth....
Update: Gosh, it's been so long since I've played Dice Game, that I forgot how I used to play it. I just brushed my teeth, took meds, & blow-dried a part of my hair. Was going to roll again, and realized that I had just done the number that I had rolled... I used to play the Game board method. So, I will continue by using the Game Board Method.
3rd roll: I just rolled an "11" which brings me to: "19" Dishes step. I will put away the hand-washed stuff from drainboard. Done.
4th roll: "11", again, which brings me to "12" Laundry Step. I will fold load of laundry

Hello cando, thanks for the heads-up, I'm going to play the version of dice game that I've been liking a lot lately, rolling to see how many things I have to do in each room. Each item can be quick like putting one thing away, or longer if I feel like it. Here's my list of rooms/areas.
Living Room
Sunporch 2nd BR
Hallway Entryway
Bathroom Bedroom Dining Room Kitchen
Pantry Computer Desk Main Desk
I'll try to keep updating the same post. First roll is 10, so 10 items to do in the LR.
In the LR I broke down 2 boxes, put 3 items in recycle and put 2 away, found a good place to store my neighbor's mail which I have to pick up for the next 3 weeks while he's away, wrote myself a sticky note reminder and wrote a note on a condo paper that I have to return to someone.
Rolled 9 for the sunporch, I put 4 items away and swept the area where the cats eat. That's all the obvious stuff that needs doing now so I'm crossing off the room. I should vacuum the couch cover and cat stairs but my younger cat is sleeping there and he still hears well enough to be scared by the vacuum!
Rolled 9 for the 2nd BR, I watered 5 plants and put 4 things away.
Next roll is 4.
