I took NINE garbage bags and two boxes of stuff to The Goodwill. I felt lighter after I dropped it off. It was all stuff that I had piled up in the garage and had been out there, taking up previous space, for almost a year. YAY. I also threw away a couple bags of garbage. I emptied all the trashcans n the house and replaced the liners.

I emptied 2glass bowls from the fridge before they grew fur. Washed those bowls Then took out a bit bag of garbage.
I also mailed off 2 dresses to a donation food bank place i mail things too. They take anything and are miles from anywhere so get very little help. I felt good...yay.
I will go through my wardrobe and zee if I can find anything else light weight.

I've got about seven bags, two boxes and a suitcase to go out tomorrow. I'm low on energy so my mum's going to come and help carry them out to the bins by the kerb, really hoping the council will have emptied them, otherwise I'll have to pile them next to the bins.

the hardest thing in the bunch- a cracked tea cup that I have been saving for reasons I can't pin down. Threw it out. WTG Tassie!! It's those things that we keep hanging onto that are the great accomplishments.

Awesome job shosha!! That's a great amount to get rid of! I am sure you will feel a great sense of freedom once you get them out to the bins.

Today I have one box filled with my son's winter clothes --- about 5 pairs of pj's, a few pants and a couple shirts. Added a book in there too. We received this book in error from someone on Amazon who we ordered another book from (had received it already.) Of course they said "keep it" because it would cost them too much to pay to ship back to them. And here it has sat in my house for a month and not a book either my husband or I are interested in.

Thanks! And well done, you! Was very relieved to see the bins had been emptied this morning, we took nearly all of it out (just got one box to go out when I leave tomorrow) including the recycling bag which as been sitting by the fridge for a few days, full to bursting. Even managed to add six books to one of the bags (I really struggle getting rid of books, let alone *gasp* throwing them away, but I gave myself amnesty...They were 'good' but quite niche, so probably wouldn't have been useful to the local charity shops, and none was in short supply on Amazon.)

WTG shosha! Yes you sometimes have to claim amnesty. I have a hard time with clothing from the kids. I think "Oh who could I give this to?" I have friends with kids, but they are so much younger than mine, that I have to remember that they probably don't want to store clothes for 1-4 years. And it may not be something they would like anyway. I had a co-worker who has 2 boys and one was just a year younger than Jackson. But she no longer works with me. So out they go! I just added 1 more odd ball item to my box. This item had me (and still does) baffled. A pair of women's size small tan fussy slippers. They appeared magically (son was playing with them) before Thanksgiving. I thought they belonged to my 16 yo niece who had been here babysitting with her mom one night when I was out of town early November and my husband was working. So I brought them to her on Thanksgiving. Didn't belong to her or my sister. My mom laughed (so obviously not hers.) ASked my 24 yo daughter who watched kids sometimes, but hadn't been here in awhile. Nope. Even asked my sister who lives 4 hours North of us, just in case she had slippers with her when she had been here in October. Nobody claimed them. I even asked my MIL who lives in Denmark if she had left them here last January. Nope. Strange thing is my mom and aunt both said, "Those look like Grandma's slippers." Grandma passed away Oct 9th. Mom swears she put them in a Good Will box. I kind of wonder if they somehow were in the suit case that she gave me of Grandma's though. Kinda weird. But I really don't need them. So now that I have exhausted all avenues (even asked 8 yo's friend if they were from their house), I will send them on their merry way.

Starting 2015 with a goal .... come here and post 1 thing every day.
Today I tossed out an old shower curtain liner & shower curtain rings. Hubby got a new shower curtain, the Tardis (it's bigger on the inside. You'll only understand if you watch Dr. Who) for Christmas. He put it up yesterday and tossed our regular shower curtain (cloth) in laundry room so I can wash and the old $3 liner on top of bathroom trash. The shower curtain came with matching rings. I was going to "save" my clear rings, but I know what will happen. They will end up in a box somewhere and I'll never find again. And I am pretty sure they cost a big fat $2 or $3. So OUT THEY GO!!

I just reread a couple pages and I am no where near " one item a day"! I did not see the clothes donation bag I did in Dec I must have forgotten to post that. It was filled with 6-7 t shirts if I remember. I must get with the 1 thing a day.
Today is a pair of pants for donation. I lost weight and they are hanging off me.
