Syzygy--Try putting the newspaper on top of the mat, and you may need a longer, wider mat. The newspaper makes the cleanup easier. I would just pick up the paper if it had pee on it and throw it away & swipe the rest off the mat. Maybe more than one layer of newspaper...as much as you need, if it goes through the paper, it will make the mat smell. I know, it is not environmentally great, but you don't want your home to smell & maybe you can get paper from neighbors who don't need it once they've read it anyway...
Clearwaterush-- I hope your heache goes away soon...so sorry that happened. I know you were stressing about those recipe/cookbooks & asked for help. I didn't have any wisdom for you at the time, but was hoping that others helped. I think that is so very awesome what you already did!!!!!! Going from 47down to just 25 is really great!!! And, all those lose recipes, gone, too!!! That is wonderful!!! Listen, after reading your post I realized that something I have learned here and thru Flylady is that it is okay not to get rid of most of them and only keep a handful. What happens is in a month down the road...maybe you can go through them again, and tone it down a little more. There is no magic number or "have to". It is all a matter of opinion. You had a terrific goal, but it is okay and you have modified it for now. You can decide to try again at a later date, of just stick with this for a while... It will be great if you can keep it at this and not add anymore as time goes on. Or, if you do want to add on, then chuck another one. The one in, one goes out thing...
About the cupboard...I'm still trying to figure stuff like that out. So, no help there...sorry.

Some more
Ta dah * Set up one litter box with soft pad to (hopefully) catch tracked litter. * Threw away broken mop head AND handle (resisting the thought of keeping it to use with another mop that I might one day own) * Mopped section 2 * Washed walls in section 2 * Cleaned baseboards in section 2 * Put furniture back into section 2 * Cat1 checked out new litter box set up and demonstrated approval

Syzygy--Try putting the newspaper on top of the mat, and you may need a longer, wider mat. But then I have to start reading the newspaper I'm going to see how this mat works and maybe try vacuuming the bits up more often- since the litter is tiny, I don't notice it (and it's under the table). The tiny factor also helps it get into the nooks of the linoleum. I'll keep the newspaper suggestion in mind, thanks.

Continuing on...
Ta dah * Scrubbed section 3 of the very dirty floor * Cat meds * Discovered that microfiber mop cleans the front of my weeping lower cabinet pretty well!
To do * More on the kitchen * Feed cats

One more step...
Ta dah * Washed walls in section 3 (using microfiber mop) * Cleaned baseboards in section 3 (ditto) * Cleaned cabinets mostly with mop * Put furniture back into section 3 * Washed section 4
To do * Just one more section after this. It would be a lot easier if I could just do all the steps once.

I have completed decluttering of the long cupboard to the left of the fridge. It's empty and is now washed down. The cleaning supplies are in a box with a question mark on it, and all the junk was dumped in the dumpster. I'm done with the To do's.
